Description:
These look a bit like yellow plums, but are in fact the cross between a mango and a nectarine. The texture of the flesh is similar to a mango, but the skin is thin like a nectarine, and it's a whole lot easier to eat! They have a subtle mangoish taste and fragrance.
More from the web:
"A Mango Nectarine is one of those special fruits that is really best appreciated in person. We cannot effectively communicate the wonderful fragrance and outstanding flavor of this tender, short-season fruit. Sweet, exotic and perfumey, they are a wonderful summer fruit, grown exclusively in California. Suffice to say, they must be tasted to be believed. Get 'em while they're hot, because their season will be over before you know it."
Availability: End of June and early July

Research done on line says these are hybrid cross of 2 light colored nectarines, ....that the taste and smell is that of mango. One look at the pit, any you'd have to conclude no Mango was involved! Pricy....but very sweet, juicy, marvelous fruit.
