Do your boobs decrease alot when you lose weight?

I'm wondering...what are the chances that I'll go down a cup size or two? Anyone out there lose up to 20lbs and find that their cup size has shrunk too? I expect the number to go down, but curious about the cup....

Yes it's true After loosing 50 pound I also lost my breasts which has ruined my confidence. I thought that there was no way to get boobs without surgery, but I was wrong! Boobpop serum has made my boobs a lot firmer and bigger!

I have lost almost 60 pounds, and I have noticed my bra cups have more room than before. I still have a lot more weight to lose, so I am waiting as long as possible to buy a new bra. My mom went from a size 12 to a size 4/6, and she said her chest shrunk.

OH YES...

Absolutely! It is a fact that breasts are the first part of a female body that loose the mass, followed by face (cheeks fall in, etc).
Unfortunately, there's nothing to do to avoid it really. If you are a bigger person, that probably won't matter that much, but on a smaller person like I am, 15-10 pounds down to my 'ideal' weight I know from previous experience I'll drop from C cup to A, or small B at most. As soon as I gain some weight, not even much, same 10-15 pounds, again, my breasts become plump and full.

Yea, I droped a cup size when I lost 5 pounds. But I was not large to begin with. Went from a 34 C to a 34 B. Breats are made of fat, so they go away! But it's worth it, from my point of view. In fact, when my breasts are getting bigger, I can tell I'm gaining weight. They bump into things and don't fit my bras, and bother me...hehe...so I prefer to have smaller ones, they make me feel athletic and sleek. And clothes sit so much better.

I went from 180 and a 36D to 120 and a 34C.... not too much different. I guess it depends on your body type.

Regardless of how much decrease you'll see in your chest, losing weight and being healthier is so much more worth your time than spending your life unhealthy with a big chest.

Will they change as muchif you're still "puberty" age? I'm 17 and still growing (all the women in my family magically get endowed at around 18-19 lol), and am planning to lose about 20 lbs (5'8 135? depends how I look). Right now I'm about a 36 C but if I'm gonna lose ALL my curves, i.e. bra size, I don't know if I'd rather be that skinny...curvy is sexy!

It really depends on your body type and genetics. My mom and I are both very well-endowed. When we gain weight, it goes to our boobs first. When we lose, it leaves them last.

I've gone from 129 lbs to 113 lbs, and I've dropped 3 clothing sizes. My 34D bras still fit, though there is a little more room in the cups. So 3 clothing sizes wasn't even close to a cup for me.

I have friends, though, who definitely lose weight in their boobs first. It really depends on the person.

As for the poster who's still going through puberty, I don't think the weight loss will have any different effect on you than on anyone else (again, depends on your genetics). You do need to be sure that you are eating enough though, as your body needs the fuel to make the changes it needs to make. If you "mess up" and eat too little when your body is not going through changes, it is bad for you, but you can recover. If you eat too little when your body is trying to go through changes, you may permanently altar how you were meant to look. i.e. when I was about 12 - 13, I was not eating enough (some boy had called me fat; I wasn't. So I stopped eating much.) I am now 5'1", while my mom is 5'5", and my dad is 5'9" - not giants, but not uber-short like me! I was probably supposed to be taller, and not eating probably stunted that, as that's when I should've been growing!

I lost about 15 pounds and shrunk a cup size from a 36 C to a 36 B. I can't even wear the C bras anymore because I just look ridiculous.

If you're worried about their appearance changing, don't worry. It'll look in proportion to the rest of your body as you tone up everywhere.

When I announced my plans to lose weight, my boyfriend asked if I'd lose my boobs. I told him there's no way b/c I used to be lighter and I still had my chest! Now he sees that they won't disappear, he's very happy about my weight loss goals!

If you go down in band size, the cup is also a bit smaller, even if the designation stays the same (i.e. a 34D cup is a bit smaller than a 38D). Cup size is determined by the amount of difference between the under measurement and over measurement (1 inch=A cup; 2 inches=B cup, etc.) If you are slow to lose in the chest, you may actually need to go UP a cup size when you decrease the band. I went from a 38D to a 36DD recently with a 30 pound loss.

Usually women lose it in their chest because it's a highly fatty area. NOT ME! I've lost 28 pounds in 2 years (taking my time and doing it slowly) and I went from a 38 C to a 42D. I swear that's why the scale doesn't drop!

I went from 350 lbs and a 54DDD bra to 302 and a 46DD bra. Still have lots more weight to get rid of and I'm sure my bust will shrink even more. So what? Better to be slimmer and healthier with a smaller bust. But then I'm over 50 and not trying to attract a man with my bust size. Just want to fell and look better for the rest of my time on this earth.

FYI - 27 years ago (before I ever got pregnant) I weighed 155, wore size 14 and a 38C bra. I expect I'll eventually get back down to a C cup and I'm totally fine with that.

Definitely! Your boobs are mostly fat tissue so when you lose weight, you usually lose some from your boobs. It totally sucks, but if you happen to gain any weight back, your boobs get bigger and makes the weight gain a little less heart breaking!

i miss being a size C so much, i look back at photos of me a few years back lounging by the pool feeling all comfortable and glamorous.
But my family genetics = big boobs. im now only 18 and a DD and definitely do not feel comfortable in summer. i have put on weight latley and they have grown a little bit bigger but i am hoping with my new plan of shedding my unwanted kilos that they will go down. I think they have played a major part in my recent low self esteem because i just never feel comfortable. and i can tell the fist thing people think when they meet me is "she has huge boobs"

oh well

I went from 36DD at 215 down to 180 and a 36D. I'm a swimmer, so I don't see my back ever going down to 34 again. I assume that when I lose another 20lbs or so and hit goal I may get down to a 36C like I was in college, but we'll see. I wouldn't mind if I stayed a D, I don't mind a C. But I don't see me getting down to a B.

YES...

In my case, it was combined with the post-pregnancy/post-breast-feeding issues as well...however, I do agree that it is worth it
when you get down or close to your goal or ideal weight and your body is in good shape, your boobs actually stand up perkier because you have better posture and a shapelier figure to accentuate them.
I also began to feel more comfortable wearing sexier clothing when I weighed less

(Hoping to get back there)

It's possible that certain herbs will protect your breast size as you lose weight. They would be a combination of fenugreek, saw palmetto, evening primrose oil, wild yam, and flax seed oil. Start with a low dosage and work your way up to 3000 mg a day of each. The doses need to be divided into 3 a day so as to keep the hormones stable.

Ok, this is going to make me sound like a pervert, but you also need to massage your boobs with a lubricant such as Palmer's cocoa butter. Use a circular motion like the ones you use when checking for lumps.

Use cumin and turmeric in foods whenever possible. They're supposed to be estrogenic and cause growth of breast tissue. http://www.cancersupportivecare.com/estrogenherbdata.html

I'm very lucky that my boobs stay in proportion to the rest of my body. Right now thought at 230lbs and a 42DDD they are just too stinking heavy to tote around comfortably! At about 180 I was a 38D and that was much more managable. I know flat chested girls hate it, but these big ol' things are just tooooooo much. One of the things I look forward to about being thinner is less back ache and being able to buy a bra that doesn't look like a harness for an army mule!

Weight loss = Boob Loss?!

Hi I've got a small frame but i come from nearly not endowed family... And recently i've been attacked with the Freshman Fifteen and I am about to enter the dungeon some call GYM. However, I THINK my boobs have also gotten slightly bigger (from a B to a small C) since my weight gain...
Is it possible to keep boobs and lose weight?
Is this too small a size change to say the weight gain was the reason for change? Are there any foods I can take to keep boob size?
Does eating foods with estrogen in it keep/increase chest size?

I was a full on C by the time I was 13. At my heaviest I was 152 pounds with a 36DD chest. I'm not very tall and literally all the weight was in my boobs. It was awful (back pain and you can forget about runnning). Since then I've lost 22 pounds and have gone from a very full over flowing 36DD to a slightly loose 36D and every a tight 36C (I LOVE IT) finally I can buy cute bras that don't look like something Walmart would sell (no offense but I'm a Victoria's Secret kind of gal). I still want to lose another 10 pound and I'm hoping my boobs eventually even out at a solid 36C (what I consider to be the ideal breat size). Since losing the weight I've found that since my waist and arms got smaller even as my boobs get smaller they actually appear bigger. I still double bra when I go to the gym to keep the girls from sagging.
I have an unhealthy fear of sagging boobies.

I can relate to that! I have never really been "overweight" but always had decent size boobs. (38C) In high school, I was all boobs. (a D). But as I work out and eat healthy (virtually no fat in my diet, I maintain a nice weight but have nearly lost my boobs all together. And whats left of them certainly needs to remain in the bra as they just sorta hang there. I was hoping to find some healthy ideas from this site of how to re-inflate my "girls". They do go up sizes when I gain a little. But I dont want to gain weight to have boobs. I always gain and lose from the boobs first. I guess its just how it goes tho. ) :

I can sympathize with all you women (and girls) who have dealt with weight loss and a reduction in breast size. I have the same problem. Last night my boyfriend, now ex-boyfriend, told me my boobs are smaller since I have lost weight. I asked him if that bothered him? He replied with a yes. So, I broke up with him. Anyways, back to why I am posting, it is my belief that breast size is predetermined by our genetic make-up. Of course there are things that can affect the size such as weight gain, birth control pills, etc. But, in reality the only way one can permanently change the size of breasts is by using silicone.

Depends on how much weight lost and the person's body shape. I have a very curvy hourglass shape. I used to have a size 6/8 waist and size 10/12 hips. My purpose for losing weight was to be able to find pants that fit. So far, I've lost 6 lbs and now, I'm a size 4/6 in the waist and my hips are the same and my pants fit even worse! My bust hasn't changed yet either. On the other hand, if I kept losing weight my breasts would shrink, just at a slower rate

Really depends on your body type. For me, the first place I put on weight (and the last place I lose it) is my belly. My boobs stay relatively stable, unless I'm nursing or pregnant, in which case they reach epic proportions.

As I'm currently a J (!) cup, I will happily donate a few cup sizes to the needy ;)

yeah, im hoping that my boobs will get a bit smaller.
im at my heaviest, 220, and my cup size is a 38D.
they dont look that big now because of my belly fat, but i fear that if i got down to my goal weight they would look dreadfully HUGE.

okayy my problem is i hate how big my breast are and am disgusted with my body.. i know i'm not obease and my weight doesnt affect me doing any phyical activity(do not get out of breath walking upstiars). i'm an athlectic person so i don't want to be a "twig" and i do not want to be "flat cheasted" i just want to lose 15-20lbs and possibly lose a cup size (almost 34D now; 14 years old)i'm the type of person who when a food doesn't look good will automatically say i dont like it, i've already promised myself that i'm going to start eating healthier(trying new/healthier foods, more fruits/veggies, laying off the cookies/chips) and exercising more. but any other suggestions on how i can lose the 15-20lb and cup size i wanna lose?? i'm just so insure on how i look

Cup Size didn't go down afte 30 lbs.

I lost 30 lbs....I was originally a 36DD....when I lost the weight, my cups still fit but my bra was lose around my back. Therefore I had to go down to a 34 around which then meant I needed a DDD cup.......very hard to find. I wish I would have lost weight in my breasts. Bra shopping would be sooo much easier.

I hope so....

Back in high school I used to be in the Drama Club and I played male roles mainly (I am female btw). But since my weight gain, my chest size has gotten so out of hand (from a small B to a large C) that I cannot play those types of roles anymore. I liked the diversity in roles I could have played and would like to not only be a larger woman character. Heres to losing weight!

How much your boobs change as you lose weight varies person to person. There is no rule that covers everyone.

I lost a cup size when I lost about 60 pounds, but my boobs didn't look any smaller. Because the rest of me was smaller, especially my waist, my boobs actually looked bigger!

shrunken boobies

although they do tend to shrink when you lose weight you will feel much better about your "new" shape if you buy a smaller bra that fits beautifully. especially a really pretty one will make all the difference in the world

1:51 poster, there's a decent chance that no one will say anything at all. I developed breasts early myself, and no one ever said a word about them. Granted, I was a complete social outcast and they didn't really *need* to go there in order to have plenty to pick on me about, but the fact remains that my chest went unmentioned all through middle school. I mean, there was this one time a boy called me flat, but then I just looked down, looked back up, and said "no I'm not," and even his friends had to agree with me. In fact, I think upon reflection, he did too. Very embarrassing for him, not so much for me. XD

Listen, the fact is that if people decide they want to pick on you, they are going to find something to pick on. It doesn't matter if you're fat, skinny, chesty, flat, ugly, beautiful -- whatever. Someone will find something to nitpick at, and they will torment you until they've got you tormenting yourself about it. This is especially common in middle school. You're in, what, fifth grade? Sixth? The next couple of years may be very difficult for you. Do yourself a favor, though, and don't take it out on your body. It won't make things any easier; in fact, it'll only make your life even harder, because now in addition to having to ward off whatever cruelty the world may send your way (and at some point there will be some, even if it doesn't come from your peers), you also have to fight this battle against your own body. Once you start fighting that battle, it becomes incredibly difficult to stop.

My suggestion? Eat right, be active, and get a good bra or two (they're worth it -- and if you end up growing more, well, bras should be replaced every so often anyway). If you're fated to be chesty, then chances are you are going to be chesty even if you do lose a little weight. It's a genetics thing. But if you start obsessing over your weight now, there's a good chance that obsession will follow you for years to come.

Please don't do that to yourself. It isn't worth it, and in the long run, it isn't going to make your life any easier or happier.

different sizes?

For the past few years, I've grown really self-concious about my boobs being different sizes--I wear a 42 DD to fit the left one, but the right one is no more than a D, possibly a C. Friends that I've talked to said they hadn't noticed until I told them, but once I did they could definitely see a difference, even when I'm just in a tee-shirt. At 130, I'm pretty comfortable with my weight right now, but is there a chance that they could become more even if I lose a little weight?

Generally yes. I do find though that women who are naturally larger and gain weight in the boobs first will not get small by losing. I think if you are naturally smaller and your larger bust size is just due to getting fat, you will get smaller.
If you have always been overweight, you may not even know your true smaller size and assume you got extra smaller but you just got to your natural size.
I've lost 32 lbs now and went from a 38DD to a 36D. I'm naturally a bit larger so I would be surprised if my last 10-15 lbs I want to drop takes me below a C. I actually welcome this as I have always disliked blouse fit being bigger and having to wear minimizer bras.

I agree and sympathise

agree and sympathise, there are never help channels for ''too bigger boobs' similar to that of 'too smaller boobs'. I am sure this is a genuinne concern for the smaller chested woman but atelast they don't have to swamp themselves in tops and dresses two sizes too big in order to cover their chests. The fault of so called 'fashion designers and cheap smanufacturers'.

I have lost 4 and a half stone in weight but my chest has remained the same other than when it went up to a J cup, which was a nightmare that no one understood.

I am undereight but have a G cup so I am proof that it is an abosolute myth that boobs are fat. They are not, they are breat tissue otherwise they wouldn't be able to produce breast milk. Breast milk from fat is a silly idea.

Unfortunately, I have no advice on how to shrink your chest but thought you might want to know that it is a wider uissue amongst more women than you might think. Hopefully, soon people will think to offer useful suggestions that they offer people with smaller chests.

Mine get bigger and rounder. (Think anime boobs.) They are all natural too! When I work out, a little is taken off the sides as I firm up but that's it. When I do chest exercises it lifts them, not makes them smaller. I like my boobs. They are my best feature aside from my nose and my eyes.

any advice? Insecure about small breasts

I recently dropped from about 145lbs to 128 lbs. While I am proud of my achievement there, I wasn't particularly well-endowed to begin with (I was a large B), and now I feel like my boobs are disappearing. For the first time since like fifth grade, I fit into a 32 A. Ugh. How have other women dealt with this? I feel so stupid and superficial fixating on like 10% of my overall body, but now when I walk around campus I'm jealous of every girl that has larger breasts than I do (which is basically everyone). Help! This isn't healthy and I'm driving myself nuts.

Just wondering...

I'm 15, it's been 4-5 years since I've started my period, and it's been 4 years since I stopped growing (I'm 5'2 or 5'3). I am a 34D, and I weight 147lbs, and I'm wanting to lose weight because of soccer. I used to weigh 128-135lbs, and wore a 34C. I was wondering...if I lose, say, 20-25 lbs, do you think my bra size will reduce? I'm not too sure if my breasts are done growing yet.

Your breasts may reduce in size some(i think they probably will from what you've said). Are you worried that losing weight will affect their ability to grow? It won't. If they are going to grow more, they will.

YES YOU WILL LOSE SOME OF YOUR BOOBS

Our boobs, apart from the hard tissue you can feel right underneath, is fat. If we lose a decent amount of weight, we lose it from our whole body in moderation. Your band and cup should decrease because our boobs are fat.

HELP!!

I'm still a teenager and i understand that i may be still going through puberty but heres the thing: my breasts are either a 32D or a 34C and sometimes it feels like the bra is too small for the but I'm too afraid to admit it because i hate my boobs more than anything in the world. I'm very short, in highschool and i avoid wearing bras as much as possible and therefore i wear sports bras most of the time. i like to be stylish but it's hard because i hate showing cleavage so having large boobs prevents me from dressing the way i want to. I also am fairly tiny(minus the breast issue) and having these big boobs just don't look right on me! I try to work out a look and go to the gym 3 time a week plus i play tennis 4 times during the week. Summer's coming up and i just tried on all of my bathing suits from last year...NONE OF THEM FIT. it's disgusting. PLEASE HELP!! i don't know what to do. Also, what makes me even more mad is the fact that my mother is a 32A and everyone in my family (mom's side and dad's) have boobs greater than a B cup.

Response to Help!!

I have been there but the first thing I will tell you is that you have to learn to love yourself and your body. You will begin a never ending cycle of dissatisfaction if you don't.
Big tip: When you get properly fitted for the right bra size...you many times look smaller than you do when you are wearing bras that are too small or sports bras.
Learn about the different style of bras, different styles are meant to help create a certain form. There are nice and pretty bras that give you support and you won't feel self conscious about cleavage. (Full Coverage bra style, T-Shirt bra style, etc.)
Go get fitted (you don't have to take anything off, they just measure you over your clothes) at any department store and tell them your concerns. There are nice bras that are made to help you look smaller, called Minimizers. From your post, I don't think you will need one of those. Talk to you Mom about it and ways you can begin to be more comfortable with your body. You have nothing to be ashamed of you are a growing young woman. You are still growing believe it or not and your body is changing and that is ok!!!

Keep fitness a part of you life, it helps in so many ways.

Mine are. I've lost 14.2 lbs over a 4 week period, and the place I feel it most is in my bras and shirts. Which are now too big.

Breasts are mostly fatty tissue, so it isn't surprising. As I gained weight, they were the first place I noticed it. Since I have a lot more to go, I fully expect my breasts to get even smaller, and it doesn't bother me a bit. As long as the belly and thighs go with them :-)

husband's observat(its)ion

My wife goes through bouts of 1/2 cup size down, to full cup-size-normal, so I speculate that it's a whole body-mass-muscle-mass size ratio. No matter what the proportion or how much she moans that her breasts (now I tell her have graduated to "tits" as per having two children) are shrinking, I tell her I can't tell any difference, and I desire her all the more. It's true. I do. I think it's hotter to desire a woman even if her bra is loose or tight.

I wonder if the progesterone cream mentioned in another thread, Emerita, could help maintain breast size. You'd not want to use more than a dime size, and dilute it well into your regular breast cream. It may help if you are low in estrogen, as fat cells do produce estrogens.

If you have a family history of breast cancer, don't screw around with your hormones.

Yup

I'm 270 lbs now (ugh), but I've lost as much as 70lbs once, going down to 170 lbs. My boobs at that time went from a large C to a B cup. I'm currently a very large C/small D, and fully expect that when I go down to my ideal weight (135-150 lbs), I'll wind up with A cups, small Bs at most.

The good news for me is that I take after my mom in terms of body type, and she seems to have permanently gained a cup size or two after having kids (she started with an A).

If all else fails, at least I've got fantastic bubble butt genes to make up for a lack of boobs.

how???!!!!!

How can you gain some fullness back in the chest? Everyone is trying to lose some, need to gain some fullness. I got diagnosed with GERD(Gastroesophagal(sp?) Reflux Disease toward the end of last year, although I didn't get heartburn or the reflux part anymore after taking Nexum for a week) except about 3 times since then ..just get excessive bloating/gas now with certain foods). I had been doing pilates and walking a lot before and after then to loose weight(went from 3-was about 15 yrs old, 5-7-9(24 yrs old) then to 7-5 and now 3 again(25 yrs old now ;P), while avoiding anything I thought might bother my stomach. (too much greasy/fried food, peppers/onions,spicy food, chocolate) and started eating smaller portions, more salad, drinking a crap load of bottled water and way less soda except Sprite(like Ginger Ale helps settle stomach issues). Anyways I would measure myself once a month and jot it down. Well noticed I was getting back into my old smaller jean sizes(my 9's were as as big as I've ever been in my life and I'm naturally small framed so) So and was almost busting out of them (so started pilates, etc.) and my bras were looser! Not cool! I was so happy about the fullness when I went up a cup size(bras/styles/colors are easier to find in bigger than a 34 A size!) Now am eating mostly normal again and I still Lost some inches while being a size 3! How? I want to gain 2? or 3? pounds to not be so boney specifically in the upper body-shoulders, arms and bust!

I think so...

Well, I'm fourteen, so I don't have big boobs yet... But I'm 30 pounds overweight and I've gained a few more pounds lately... And I've noticed my boobs are bigger and I don't know if I'm mad or something, but kind of fatter... Like a tummy when you're overweight, i don't know, it kinda gets softer and werid.. Well, that same thing but in my boobs. I guess they've grown because of puberty and developing and all those things, but as I said before I notice them fat and...flabby, but not in the way of an old lady's, they're different... Well, the point is, two months ago (when they were not flabby yet) I was a 32 AAA now I'm a 34AA and sometimes a 34 A...I know its fat what has made them go bigger, because I've always been slow in puberty growth (I dont know how do you call that....) I mean, they've never grown that much in a month and a half! And they are flabby now. And they werent flabby before. But Im honestly happy with my boob growth, but I really hate being fat, so I have started to control what I eat and making exercise (have you ever heard about that wii game "just dance"? its incredibly fun, and it makes you sweat! i reccomend it to yooou...) because I prefer to be slim and flat than being fat with bigger boobs (and I dont even have that much) So I guess they decrease, but you can kinda predict how much they will, I guess you just have to see how much flabby tissue you have in there...Oooh, all this sounds so strange! But I guess that's the way it is......

When I was very thin and doing long-distance running every day I wore a 30DD. I gained 35 pounds in college and now my bra size is a 36HH. My breasts are a burden and I can't buy clothes off the rack anymore because normal stores don't carry anything that fits me in the chest. If I buy plus size clothing, the sleeves and arm holes are way too large and the baggy waists make me look really fat even though my waist is not big. I have to buy 3 or 4 sizes up and have everything altered or custom made which is really expensive. I've considered getting a breast reduction, but insurance won't cover it unless I have documented back pain and I lose all of my extra weight. So far I've lost 15 pounds working out every day and eating right, but I haven't lost any weight in my breasts. I hope it happens eventually because I would do anything to feel normal and comfortable again! I can't imagine actually WANTING large breasts. I would absolutely love the freedom of not having to lug these heavy things around and to be able to walk into a store and buy beautiful clothing and lingerie. Not having people gawk at my boobs everywhere I go would be amazing too!

I dont know what to do!

I am 15 years old and i know i should not be trying to lose weight but i am really unhappy with my "love handles" and my tummy and i dont want to lose my 38c! I am 5'6 and i weigh 130 pounds. I have a great matabilism and all considering i controll my eating habits enough that i only ever go up to 131 than i will go back to 130 the next week, but i really want to have a summer where i can go to the beach and be comfurtable with my whole body! I really dont want to lose my boobs what do i do??
