no question about it I am voting for Ron Paul

Bring back the troops, quit trying to dictate the world and get our country back on track, we need a change a change in the right direction. I am tired of hearing of charismatic Obama is, or how McCain has the war veteran experience, reality is most Americans do not pay close attention to what is going on and simply go for the most popular candidate.

Romney has my vote. I can't stand McCain. I actually liked Obama before this champaigne but he has lost what it was I liked. He was just a year ago, a bit rep, dem and liberal but he sort of change his stance on this journey. I'm of the opposite on the war issue. I think to many times we go over and don't finish what we've wrought. The Taliban are gaining strength and I am of the belief they need to be stopped. But we need a different tactic to help make that area stable and on its way to a better life for all. It is horrible that we didn't help them after the soviets left and the cold war ended, they were better off having the soviets there. But we armed them, taught them how to fight and got rid of the soviets and thats where our helped stopped.

I'm a registered Republican but a libertarian at heart. I like Hilary best so I'm not bothering with the primaries this time around.

Romney got my vote. He is the best executive and has range- he is a conservative guy but governed very liberal MA.

As a MA resident I have to say Romney did not do a great job of governing liberal MA.... I don't trust him.
I am voting for Hillary Clinton. I respect her and I think she will make a great president.

I'm undeclared politically and therefore don't participate in party elections.

I do, however, find it wonderful and incredible that in this party election we have a Black candidate, a woman candidate, and a Mormon candidate--all three from formerly-oppressed minorities against which prejudices still exist--and all three of them have had a serious chance of winning this election. That's *awesome*, even though I can't say I like all of them as candidates or as potential national leaders.

I do have to say that "President Huckabee" sounds like a cartoon... :^ ) It would be very hard to hear that name in a serious context...

Isn't it amazing the varied views on this topic! I personally have zero idea. All I do know is who I WON'T be voting for and that is OBAMA! YUCK cannot stand the high almighty man! Has nothing to do with race just don not like his stance on the political issues, religion or his views. I'm a female and I'm not going to vote for Hilary either. Her health care plan is ridiculous and will hurt a lot of familes in this nation!

2:22. you've confused me (I'm 2:01).

First, I'm not sure if you read my post as I intended it--not as a statement for or against any candidate, but as just a little bit of wonderment that in one election we have such varied choices, including some that wouldn't have had a chance 50 years ago for reasons that have nothing to do with ability.

Second--I'm not sure I'm reading your post correctly either. What exactly is a reason not to vote for someone? The fact that that candidate belongs to a group that at one time was an oppressed minority? That would be saying that we should never vote for anyone of color, for anyone female...because non-whites and females were once politically and socially oppressed (not allowed to vote, not allowed to hold property, etc) in this country.

Or maybe you mean that if someone feels they are part of an oppressed minority or uses the phrase "oppressed minority," that's a good reason not to vote for them, which makes a little more sense--I wouldn't want a President with a personal chip on his or her shoulder.

Can you clarify? Thanks!

2:09 You have to be kidding? You say ""It took the last Clinton to clean up after the first Bush, it's going to take another Clinton to clean up after this one". Are you forgetting that Clinton didn't finish his job in the middle east the 1st time around, or the fact that he chose to close down 1/3 of our military bases and closed 2 sections of our intelligence agencies, had not for that maybe we would have been in the loop of 9/11 and it could have been stopped. After all that was years in the making. And lets not forget the business problems in AK or the fact that he PUBLICLY lied to every american about his sex scandal. Quite frankly I find it disturbing that no one seems to remember he was impeached. If another Clinton gets in office we will all pay for it. Higher taxes, even for middle class and who do you think is going to fund this health coverage for every american? The little people. I am voting for Romney but if I had to vote for a dem it would by far be Obama, he has clear ideas of the changed that this nation could stand.

I voted Hilary. I think she did a pretty good job the last time she was President :-)

In case some people aren't voting b/c they aren't registered to one party or another, in many states, you don't need to register one party or the other - you just show up at the polls, and declare there which party's primary you want to vote in. Illinois is one of those states. I'm not sure of the others.

At least in Illinois, you don't need your voter registration card either; you just need a photo ID (though, they didn't even ask for mine when I went to the polls this morning! Just for my name, which they checked off of a list!)

I think maybe you are confused as to what a libertarian is, do you mean liberal? Hillary is the furthest candidate from libertarian views!! Libertarians believe in a "hands-off" government, NOT at all what Hillary stands for!

I'm sorry, I just had to point that out to you, it wouldn't make any sense for you to vote for her if you have libertarian views.

I 1st stand w/ his Pro-life choice, also appreciate his on the front lines experience w/ war and his constent respect for our soldiers still there and his respect for our current president..do not always have to agree w/ Pres. George Bush but I like that there is an element of respect for the actual postion...would never vote for Obama, could not even listen to a man running to be prsident of the USA and yet refuses to wear a flag on his lapel....

McCain is basically a cranky old democrat. Hillary is less cranky and younger. There is basically zero difference down deep between Hillary and McCain. Only Hillary is a woman and women have been repressed and in the kitchen and stuff. So it's time to throw them a bone.

The difference between McCain and Hilary is that, under McCain, Roe vs. Wade will be overturned, and under Hilary, it will not. McCain is pro-life and Hilary is pro-choice. That is a BIG difference!

And, to the idiot who posted that Obama won't wear a flag on his lapel, below is a link to an article on msnbc.com, where Obama explains why he does not wear the pin. It is not because he is anti-American, and, he has worn one previously.

BTW, I voted Hilary, not Obama, so I am not saying this in support of Obama; I just hate when people read things in trash tabloids or e-mail chains and then reiterate it as though it is fact, without bothering to discover the whole story.

Roe vs. Wade is never going to be overturned. It is just an issue because niave soccer moms, think that this is actually going to happen.

You will probably be suprised to know that I am pro-life. But lets be realistic this is not even a real issue in politics. It is just something politician focus on because they know how niave some people are. Roe vs. Wade is not going to change.

Roe v. Wade could easily be overturned. Just search "abortion" in the threads above for several debates on the issue. In fact, it's currently illegal in the US to have an abortion after the 1st trimester, even in the case of incest, and even in the case where the mother's health and safety is threatened by the pregnancy. This is pretty close to overturning Roe v. Wade, since man women don't even know they're pregnant until after the 1st trimester.

Wrong 5:05 in the case that the mothers life is in danger or threatened because of the fetus it is legal to terminate the pregnancy after the 1st trimester. And please tell me honestly how many women you know who didn't know they were pregnant before 3 months went by. Personally I think that was a stupid statement. The majority of women who get pregnant usually know they are pregnant by the time they are 6-8 weeks.
