Online workout log?

I became really motivated using the Self Magazine Challenge log, and Im trying to find something to replace it. Does anyone know of either an online log or downloadable program where you can keep track of your workouts in minutes and/or calories burned?

My boyfriend uses Microsoft Excel to keep track of how many lifts he does, and of how much weight, each day. That's probably not exactly what you were looking for, but, he can see his results and watch how much he's improving, and it's simple and free (well, free if it's already on your computer!)

I'm thinking of starting an excel sheet too, with daily weight, time spent on exercise, calorie burned, steps taken (pedometer), etc. But, right now I'm happy with PEERtrainer.

Why not do it here? What features did it include?

I know I'm having a hard time sticking to my workouts, and maybe paying more attention to logging it (here, while I log my diet stuff here) will keep me on track.

Did work out/ Didn't work out isn't keeping me on track, that's for sure.

Working on the Excel Spreadsheet idea

That was a good one. I can also make it graph my progress as well. Once its done, Ill share with anyone who's interested

Self Challenge Features

It was fairly simple (at least in design)

It recorded the number of minutes you worked out and calculated the calories expended based on the activity noted. IT kept a running tally and gave you a visual graph as well

24hourfitness.com

I'm not sure if it's still free on their site, but 24hourfitness.com used to have a logging program with quite a few of those features, and it used to be free. In addition, their recipe corner is great! I found that it had more features than I really wanted, so I stopped using it (about 2 years ago), and haven't checked it out since.

It's worth checking out, but like anything else in life that's worth the effort, they're probably charging for it, now. =)

free online workout log

I have used a bunch and at the end of the day nothing is as easy as using the log here. For me the simple act of writing things down every day helps a great deal. Ideally, i'll write down my planned workout for the day, and for some reason that helps me do it, knowing my group members will see if I backed off or not.

I'm so right there with you. I often write in my planned exercise in the workout section when I type in my breakfast, knowing I have to do it because others will see it. It always feels great to delete "planned" and know the workout is finished. Following through, especially with something as important as exercise is such a great confidence builder.

workout logs

let me know if you find Nirvana on this one.
I like alpilot most of all, a now defunct Palm Pilot program. I *really* want something on the internet though. I've got something called mycalendars.net, which lets you enter color coded stuff into each day, and that's pretty cool.
The excel thing of course, is one way to go.

thedailyplate.com logs nutritional info and exercise, and can be used for just one or both. It has a huge database of exercises and foods, and bases its numbers on your personal info.

Workout Routines

The Rice Diet is a program specializing in the prevention, treatment and reversal of obesity, hypertension, diabetes and congestive heart failure. The diet consists of fruits, grains, vegetables, beans, and olive oil with small amounts of non-fat dairy and seafood (& lean meats), which is what patients are directed to eat when they return home both for continued weight loss and maintenance. On completion of the program, resources are available for participants to continue with a healthy lifestyle, and to maintain the improved health gained while on the residential program.

The GymLog

A good alternative would be http://www.thegymlog.com. You log your weight lifting workout results in your mobilephone and later they can be uploaded for statistics and sharing.

Exercise logs can = Leaderboards!

It's true that too logged exercise just on an excel sheet, so no bells or whistles. But I think you miss out on a lot of the social, peer pressure benefits of sharing your exercise with others this way - inevitably there's many solutions around the web for this.

I built my own after becoming disillusioned with other exercise / fitness trackers which didn't cover all the exercises I did / couldn't quite satisfy my demandingness...

It's young, it's hopefully fun and you can use it in a way that only that only the people you've sent a link to appear there. So it's as public or as private as you like.

www.earthexercise.com (Exercise and Fitness tracking log - with bells & whistles!)

I relish feedback, I'm quite proud of trying to put it together - let me know what you think or if I can improve it so you'll make use of it!

Have you tried "Health Tracker" on Prevention.com? It keeps track of food, exercise, weight, etc. It gives you a graph as well.

What I didn't like about it was that it was too much work. As one of the previous posters said, simplicity works. All the bells and whistles are good, but if I don't use it, it's useless.

If you just use the workout logs, though, it should be OK. It keeps track of minutes & calories burned.

That's why I love the peertrainer log and I've been here for years. Its simplicity and I actually do it. I don't need all of the stuff. I want to write down what I do quickly.
