I HATE GRAPEFRUIT

It tastes very yucky. It is bitter and even the little sweetness in the after taste isn't a savior for it.

So don't eat it. Is someone shoving it down your throat?

No, I tried it for the first time today as a snack, I ended up onlly taking 2 or 3 small pieces of it before I threw it away... I have 2 whole grapefruits at home that are never going to get eaten.

It's very good with a little sugar or splenda sprinkled on top. On it's own, it's a bit rough at first. Though, depending on your perspective, adding sugar or splenda may defeat the purpose of trying to eat fruit.

Some people just don't enjoy sour stuff as much. There are sweeter kinds - like the Ruby Red.
Don't toss that fruit you bought - make a recipe:

I'm with you in your hatred of this nasty fruit. I avoid it at all costs, but occasionally a piece of it hides in a fruit salad. Curses!

I LOVE GRAPEFRUIT my favorite fruit in fact. But I can't have it anymore I am on cholesteral meds.
I never tried it but I have heard you can broil it and it makes it sweeter.
You may give it a try.

Bring it into work and put a little note beside it that says "free"...now you know not to buy it anymore.

Coudn't agree with you more. When I first tried it a few months ago I thought people were crazy who could eat that. I love sour stuff too (sour patch kids) but this I can't stand.

Some people are "supertasters" and have more taste buds than the average person. Supertasters are usually more sensitive to bitter flavors. Maybe you are one!
