Oh good grief!

Could someone please post a link to the PT rule that says All Threads in the Community Section must be about Diet and/or Fitness?

I've been reading through the thread and someone has been leaving rude comment in all the threads that aren't about diet and fitness. Come on, it's a community section. It's for whatever you want to talk about! Whatever's on your mind. Whatever is stressing you out. If you don't like it, skip those threads.

Woohoo, I agree! The community section is there to allow members to discuss what they want to! If you don't like that it is not fitness/diet oriented, don't click on it! Duh.

that's cool and everything, but keep it down a little my peeps, I am not here to chat about yeast infections here. Go to yeastinfection.com if you want to talk about that

Or you don't have to give in to your curiosity and not open the yeast infection thread. If the topic skeeved you out so much and doesn't pertain to you, why go there? I think you secretly love yeast infections and all conversation about yeast infections......

PT Etiquette excerpt:
http://www.peertrainer.com/loungeetiquette.aspx

"The "Community" is a great resource. If you have created a new public group, post a note in the community. You'll get some active and helpful participants. If you are looking for a group to join, post a note and people will tell you about groups that would be a fit. The community is a great place to ask almost any question, no matter how personal. Most likely you'll get great answers. The PEERtrainer community is very welcoming to new users."

So then it would be okay if I started 20 threads with topics like:

How do subtly pick a wedgie?
Help - I misplaced my car keys
Join my new group "Bulimics Unite"
My neighbor's dog barks too much
Nominate your favorite toilet paper
My boyfriend beats me but I know he loves me

....and that would be just fine. Sure, next time I'm bored, I'll have some fun with this. After all, I'd be following the rules of etiquette - and you'd have to be welcoming and helpful. Yay.

as someone who created a group for people in RECOVERY of bulimia and need support losing weight w/o slipping into those behaviors again. How is that not "on topic" with PeerTrainer?

I love all the threads, I love the off topic. It's been like this since the beginning of pt so if you don't like it, skip them.

I just wish that people posting an ad for their group would figure out how NOT to post it 5 times in a row.

I love off topic threads. I've learned about a lot of cool things, like flylady.net. Sometimes it's fun to just read the fights, without getting involved. If a topic is too gross for me, I don't read the thread and just move on. The only off topic threads I don't like are by (what seems to be) one or two skeevey, predatory men who want to thoroughly discuss their sexual kinks.

OT within reason sure, but PT people are not my friends, I want advise from other random people on exercise and nutrition, so if the OT threads are out of contol it is a waste of space on a site about healthy eating and exercise... go ask your mom how to pick a wedgie...
If you want to chat about random crap call your girlfriend
