Opinions on cardio options

Hello everyone,

Lately I've been rather busy and have been trying to squeeze in my normal 30-45 minutes of cardio everyday. Finding myself without time for the full workout, I just end up skipping it all together.

Instead I've (for the past two days) been fitting in tiny workouts throughout the day; 15 minutes cardio in the morning, some upper body free weights in the afternoon, and then 15 minutes more of cardio before dinner.

My question is, has anyone ever tried the little workouts throughout the day method? And if so, was it as effective as long workouts? Surely it's better than my not working out at all as of late, but should I just try to schedule my long workouts into my day?

All constructive feedback is welcome.

Sounds good to me! That you can manage to squeeze in 3 sessions of exercise in a busy day is fabulous and commendable!

I think you'll be fine. It's not like you're training for a marathon and 15 minute increments of running is your plan. It sounds like a good way to fit it in and you'll reap the benefits. I didn't Google it to confirm, but I seem to recall reading somewhere at sometime that breaking up your exercise is a sound strategy.

I say go for it :)

Great question OP! I've wondered the same thing. Too many times I don't get to take as long of a bike ride as I would like because my children are young and can only go up to 2 miles or i'll get on the treadmill and they need something.

I think any exercise is good, but great question as to if it's effective for weight loss.

Works for you ? Do it then.

One problem - if you are really working out out hard you should be sweating like a pig - gonna take 3 showers?

Thank you all for your replies!

Two quick showers should be sufficient, 11:41 :)
