Take it easy take it slow

5' 3'' & 159 lbs is not "fat"
Hopefully here you will find support for good exercise and healthy eating habits.

To lose a little weight:
1. Lose it slowly!
2. Calculate your BMR + exercise calories burned
3. count calories (www.thedailyplate.com) Eat the above amount of healthy foods minus just a few hundred calories
4. Do 3/4 cardio (walk, treadmill, whatever) & 1/4 weights. 1 hour - 5x a week

remember to take it easy on diet and exercise okay?

I'm 5'4" and 160...down 15 and hoping to get another 25 off of me. The PP summed it up pretty well. Keep your motivation high and expect great things from yourself. Not wanting to be "fat" anymore isn't enough, you've got to really work for it!!! You can do it!

I agree with the previous posters as well.
Log everything so you hold yourself accountable to what you eat.
Eat whole grains, low fat dairy, lots of fruits and veggies and stick with leaner proteins.

On a side note you might want to work on your typing skills. I know it's cute to type a little different but your post was very difficult to interpret. I am not sure where you are from but I am pretty sure no where in the world English is taught in the fashion in which you type. Please post legibly next time.

PP -- leave her in peace. If she hadn't stated that she's 17, you probably wouldn't have started to give her this sort of lecture. She asked for diet advice, not for demeaning comments that sound like even my own grandma is way to cool to word them that way. Do you really want to turn her away from this site? Next time, just don't read the post if you have problems keeping up!

OP -- find a group of supportive members and start loosing weight! I know you can do it! You'll be great!

1) Exercise regularly, it will help build muscle to increase your metabolism and burn calories. You'll have the best success with dieting.
2) If you're 17 ask your parents for support. You need more whole grain foods (whole grain to dark colored or multigrain, if in doubt check the ingredients whole whatever should be one of the first 2 ingredients). More vegetables, more lean meats (chicken, fish, pork) and less junk. At 17 my parents usually did the cooking and always the grocery shopping, so you'll need their help to make sure the right foods are available and being prepared.
3) This isn't a diet, it's not something your doing for 3mo, 6mo, etc. it's something your doing to look and feel better and it will be a lifelong change.

From personal experience you are choosing the perfect time to do this. I was so thin at 17 and I didn't even have to work at it, then I moved out and all my bad eating habits amplified. I don't know if they have the phrase freshman 15 where you live but I definately gain at least 15 lbs that first year from home. Getting on the right track now is a great time to not only lose weight now but keep it off and not gain like many others will do in the next year.

What is that 446 made of?

one McCheeseburger?

Yes, there is harm, go a little higher and you will still lose lots - 800 is the absolute minimum!!

harm is to your heart - you could die! Do you want to be dead?

Where ever did you come up with 446? No way! Not safe. You can do 800-1000 if you do primarily fruits and veggies. Good luck!

what harm?

your mood will be really crappy
your heart will be overwrought
Your skin and hair will be bad
You will be tired constantly
You will lose muscle
You will look and feel bad all the time.

Why not eat more and healthier and still lose weight while being happy...are you trying to get contol of your life? Are you upset about something?

are you the OP?

No no you shouldn't apologize. I was just curious. Sorry, that's not the issue here.

Unfortunately if you lose a lot of weight really quickly it could do things to you that will make you far less attractive to yourself. Not only will your hair and skin look worse because of lack of nutrition, but if you lose weight very quickly your skin wont have time to shrink back up and you'll end up with a bunch of loose and saggy skin in all the wrong places.

I seriously think you should just cut back, one pound a week is good. A pound is a lot! You will notice a difference, trust me!

Next time you're in the grocery store weigh out a pound of apples. Then you'll see. A pound doesn't seem like a lot because of the type of mentality we have about our weight in numbers. You see where you want to b and you want ot be there. Unfortunately it doesnt work (well) like that. I'd hate to see you sick.

One way to do it

I'm in the US. I was told by a doctor that if you want to weigh 120 pounds, you will eventually have to consume 1200 calories a day; for 130 pounds, 1300 calories. Ten times as many calories as pounds.

For kg, it translates into 22xkg=calories. If you want to weigh 55 kg, you will have to eat about 1200 calories.

But I think you should start gradually. You weigh 68kg now... why not have an intermediate goal of 64kg? Start by reducing your intake to 1400 calories. When you get close to 64kg, then you can reduce your calories to 1300 for your next goal of 60kg.

If you starve yourself, you won't be able to stay with your diet. Just jeep yourself on a downward trend, and don't be in a hurry.
