How often do you weigh yourself?

Are you meticulous about it, getting on the scale at the same time each day/week? Or is it more of a random, inconsistent thing?

Usually two times a week, more or less the same time...using the same scale, wearing the same thing (towel).

Twice a day..first thing in the morning, last thing at night. Seeing how much water weight I retain helps me with controlling and rethinking the salt content in my food.

No more than once a week....

same day, same time...Sundays at 7am. If I do it more often I start to obsess about it. Everyone is different though.

ditto 5:36...it's almost compulsive and obsessive, but helps keep my eating in line.

When I'm dieting, once a week. First thing after I shower in the morning (somehow I'm convinced the heat of the shower helps hee hee). I find if I weigh in more than once, I get discouraged because the scale doesn't seem to be moving all that much. Weighing in once a week allows that cumulative loss to seem like a bigger accomplishment than just an ounce here and there. When I'm at a weight I like, I definitely weigh myself every day for exactly the opposite reason....if I'm up a few ounces I want to know right away!

The trick !

Ha Ha,

Okay here is my trick - I weigh myself in the morning (buck) after my workout & shower - I can drop a good pound or two if I do good cardio so it gets me motivated to run just a little farther ! ;)

Every morning, after peeing! And yes, I can usually drop a pound doing hard cardio for my official Monday weigh-in!

I was told by a reputable source once to never weigh yourself too soon after you exercise because your muscles swell and if you've been drinking water your body is holding onto that fluid, so you may actually weigh in more than you do. Imagine what you would weigh if you waited an hour or two!!! :)

as a recovering anorexic/bulimic i was not "allowed" to weight myself - I even turned the other way at the doctors office so I couldnt see.
Well, fast forward 4 years and I was overweight - not a lot - but even without a scale I knew I had some lbs. to lose.
I started weighing myself again but I won't buy a scale forhome - I only use the one at the gym so I can't weigh myself 2 or three times a day. I would be a stress case obsessing over those numbers. I am at the gym 4-6 days a week so I still weigh-in a lot.
I post my weight on my Goals 1x/week - every wed. or thurs.
