I did not know . . . Shredded Wheat ! ? !

So I saw a box of plain ole' Post Shredded Wheat at my parents and picked it up. The ingredients are 100% natural whole grain wheat...
AND THAT IS IT ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Why are we not all only eating this and no other crappy cereal from now on ?
This is so my new favorite snack, convienient portable and 10000% healthy ! !

- any other box of cereal has like 47 goofy ingredients in there!

like for example Quaker Oatmeal quares:
WHOLE OAT FLOUR, WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, BROWN SUGAR, MALTODEXTRIN, MALTED BARLEY EXTRACT, MOLASSES, SODIUM BICARBONATE, SALT, CALCIUM CARBONATE, REDUCED IRON, SODIUM ASCORBATE, YELLOW 5, NIACINAMIDE*, ZINC OXIDE, VITAMIN E ACETATE, VITAMIN A PALMITATE, YELLOW 6, THIAMIN MONONITRATE*, PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE*, RIBOFLAVIN*, FOLIC ACID*. *ONE OF THE B VITAMINS. BHT ADDED TO PRESERVE PRODUCT FRESHNESS CONTAINS WHEAT INGREDIENTS.

because I'm allergic to wheat and try not to eat a lot of grains period.

And besides the malto dextrin, there's not a lot of weird things in the oat square. Sodium bicarbonate is just baking soda- whoopty do. They they have added in all the vitamins- which most people will take in a pill anyways. (Sodium ascorbate is vitamin C)

Yellow, maltodextrin, and BHT are the only things that aren't really healthy.

See, the very idea of "healthy" is so undefined, and the public is generally quite ignorant as to what ingredients are.

There's not a lot of point adding something to your "healthy eating" diet plan if you don't like or merely tolerate the taste. That makes it unsustainable in the long-term.

I hear y'all -
all I'm saying is I like my oatmeal in the morning becasue it is healthy and simple and good and now I have another WHOLE GRAIN snackety food i can really feel good about encorporating into my strict diet plan - I was going to start eating a piece of whole wheat bread because I don't eat enough carbs but this is better, more portable and cleaner! So I thought maybe someone else would be in that position - I live SO anti carbs so I need some great options like this.

and also they have it with bran too... good times

I remember liking shredded wheat when all you could get it in was those big rectangles. It is really good with hot milk poured over it.
I would add splenda too. Thanks OP for reminding me.

shredded wheat is my favorite cereal!

I have trouble digesting oat products, so I really rely on whole wheats for my fiber.

Actually, a bowl of two large shredded wheat biscuits keep me feeling full (but not bloated) for up to 6 hours!

Hi OP. I use shredded wheat as a snack, too. Sometimes I sprinkle a little sea salt on some shredded wheat for a cracker taste and sometimes I sprinkle a little unrefined sugar and cinnamon for a sweet taste. I have recently learned about Nutritional Yeast. That might be a yummy topping, too!

PS I love packaged foods w less than 5 ingredients too, thanks for reminding me.
