Has anyone ever noticed that ...

in a lot of the discussions on this board, there is a nasty argument intermingled throughout??? I think that being able to post in total anonimity contributes to this b/c people seem to be able to get away with saying anything they want.

There should be a rule of thumb - if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything.

I'm not trying to start an argument or be "board police" I'm just saying that for a support board there could be a lot less finger pointing and rudeness here! It's frustrating to keep trying to participate in conversations that get hijacked by name calling sessions.

I'm noticing more and more the old thread police. This will end soon and the spelling police will be out, too.

If you use the search function, you will find countless threads that whine about nastiness in this forum. Sad to say you are far from the first "astute" person to notice.

one of my favorite quotes is from Gandhi

“We must become the change we want to see.” Or another version
"become the difference you want to see in the world"

Well ;P ...

while I do apologize for the anonymity spelling error, I don't for bringing up an old topic.

With all due respect, I think the pointing out and/or bumping up of old threads is useful when the OP has asked for information but when a general discussion is being brought up, what the posters of several months ago had to say isn't necessarily relevant.

That said, I had to laugh b/c I didn't even realize that in directing posters to old threads, the OP was being chastized, I simply thought that someone was pointing out another similar discussion for relevant purposes ... shows how optimistic I am :)

Also, I think on these types of message boards, as with email, or any written communication, it's easy to mistake the intent behind the words.

My guess is that a lot less offense might be taken if we all assumed that the posts were well meaning vs. nasty. ... although there are some that there is no mistaking the sometimes not so well hidden negativity :)

ok spell-checkers ... have at it ... :)

some people have nothing better to do

other people can't possibly feel good about themselves until they've tried to make someone else feel bad
