HHow long ago did you join PT and how much weight have you lost?
I'll start, I don't even know when this site got started but I joined PT Nov 2007 and I have lost 10 lbs, and incresed my exercise to 5 times a week at the gym.
Tue. May 20, 10:37am
My boyfriend and I just joined about a week or two ago. He's doing awesome on the fat smashers diet and has lost almost 10 lbs already! I'm hanging in there and am concentrating on adding exercise to my daily routine. I 've done all kinds of the diets out there, and the low carb ones work the best for me but I know the older I get the success for me lies in exercise... so my goals and little successes lie in behaviour change and inner thought changes. And I'm doing much better. This site... (and my boyfriend, lol) are keeping me honest and accountable. I'm less inclined to talk myself out of the exercise when I know I'm going to have to log it in here that I blew it, lol... same as putting stuff in my mouth that I know isn't going to help me reach my goal of feeling amazing.( whatever that looks like)
And for me feeling amazing is more about being true to myself and sticking to what I promised myself... basically doing all the right things that make sense to me, cuz sooner or later they have to add up to better health.
I want to feel better and more amazing than ever the older I get, I want the years ahead of me to be the best years of my life... I don't want to have any regrets. When I look back at the last 20 yrs, there are definitely regrets and they would have been so simple to prevent. This 40 thing is changing me... NO REGRETS! So I ask myself, ' Are you going to regret going for that walk and tackling that hill?' Of course the answer to that is no.... but then the flip side is ' Are you going to regret NOT going for that walk and tackling that hill?...
That's how I want to live my life and peer trainer is helping me do that. I'm definitely looking for other very seriously motivated people to team up with and ride the wave together!

Joined Jan 08 lost 8-10 lbs. All of it in the first 6 weeks and have been gaining and losing the same 3 lbs ever since (my goal is to lose another 5-7).
BUT...
I am eating far better, drinking less and my fitness has improved dramatically. In Jan I could run for 15 min very slowly now I am training for a 10K this weekend and 1/2 marathon in the fall.

11:30 I wouldn't exactly say you are "stuck" when it can only have been around 1 month since you started. I have been "stuck" for 3 months!

to the poster that only lost 15 pounds in one year.. don;t beat yourself up just get back on the wagon.. loosing 15 pounds in one year is better than gaining 5...now make a goal to loose the other 15 this year...
I want to loose 20 more so I have to just keep at it...

I began to change my life about 20 mos ago. I was just about 350 lbs in Sept 2006, and now I'm 294 in May 2008. Still have 120 lbs to get rid of, but it will go. I joined PT about a year ago, after I'd already started changing on my own. It's been a lot of fun meeting new people and being cheered on when I do well and supported when I struggle. PT is awesome!

I joined PT for the first time in May 2006. I was on for almost a year and lost 60 pounds. I left for a little while, started getting into bad habits again, and regained about 13 pounds in eight months. Now I'm back to get back to where I was.

I joined in April 2005 - one of the "beta" members! I lost about 15 lbs in the first year and a half or two years, and have been maintaining for over a year now. Couldn't have done it w/o PT!

Also, to the poster who said she thinks she failed since she's only lost 15lbs - I've also "only" lost 15 lbs, but, if I hadn't been doing this, not only wouldn't I have lost 15 lbs, but I probably would've gained a bunch over the past 3 years!!!
