fixing a metabolism in starvation mode
in recent months, it has been brought to my attention that my metabolism is in starvation mode and likely has been for years. i always thought i ate well -- lots of fruits, veggies, salads -- but it seems i'm not getting enough of what i need and so my body is holding on to every little last calorie it has in it.
at least, that is what everyone is telling me! and i'm going to trust them because i can't doubt them if i've never tried. i've done it my way for years and have maintained by 150+ lbs. clearly, my way doesn't work. it's time for a new approach.
as such, i've set out to find out the best way to revive my metabolism. i know this may take a while. i know i've got a serious adjustment to make in my life. and i am comitting, here and now, to eating small portions more often.
in the search to figure out how best to rev-up my metabolism after years of having it being sluggish, i found the following article and thought it makes the most sense.
