Its due to a dominant side

Everyone has one side they prefer and that is stronger than the other. When working out, try to compensate by pushing your weaker side harder than the other side. Try 1 legged squats, which allows full concentration on the leg that is being worked.
Good luck.

Everyone has one leg slightly longer than the other, caused by the way our hips have "settled" over the years. Chiropractors make a big fuss over this, though it doesn't adversely affect most people. I've noticed how it affects my joints differently (my right knee will get sore from doing too much elliptical while the left one is fine), but I don't think there's a visible difference. Anyway, another possibility is scoliosis, however slight, causing a larger difference in the length of your legs.

Try concentrating on pushing the other leg when working out-- it may help to isolate the muscles and to even out your muscle tone....

Also, if you are using a work-out tape or class, are both sides of your body getting "equal time"? I've noticed that some work-out tapes do not work out both sides of the body equally, so I will re-wind and do the exercises so that both sides get the same amount of work-out time.

i had the same thing with my right leg but its probably because i have a weak ankle but ever since i have been focusing on it i don't have the same problem.. well its not as much of a noticeable difference
