Has Positive Attitude Helped You Lose Weight?
We just posted an article in the blog from Joshua Wayne about the relationship between optimism and weight loss. One interesting thing he wrote was this:
"According to Christopher Peterson, Ph.D, a researcher at the University of Michigan, “There is a link between optimistic attitudes and good health. It has been measured in a variety of ways. Overall, we have found that optimistic people are healthier. Their biological makeup is different. They have a more robust immune system. Optimistic people act differently ... [and] are more likely to do the things that public health experts say are associated with good health. Generally speaking, they eat sensibly, they don't drink senselessly, they exercise and they get their sleep."

I'd have to say a positive attitude has definitely helped. I've started to lose weight several times since I gained it and I only got as far as 5 or 10 pounds before giving up because I never really believed in myself in the first place.
This time I approached it in such a positive way that I felt I had to do it. I believed in myself and I've lost 53 pounds. I owe a lot of that to PeerTrainer as well because this Web site has helped keep me on track. I've met a lot of people here who have encouraged me and kept my attitude positive even when I was feeling a little low. Support + a positive attitude = SUCCESS!
