If You Didn't Care- What Would You Have For Lunch Today?

I'm one of those people who REALLY has to watch every single calorie. Too much and the scale (and my body) doesn't forgive. But sometimes, I like to think about what I would eat if I just didn't care. So, I'd love to hear what would be on the menu today if you didn't give any thought to health, weight or eating right!

For me-
a giant chicken Chipotle burrito, with extra cheese. And a package of freshly made peanut butter cookies with chocolate drizzled over the top that I would sit and munch all afternoon. And if I could stomach it, a chocolate chip scone!

Tofu fries from Bombers Burrito Bar in Albany. Sounds gross, I know, but its divine...french fries topped with cheddar cheese, rice, and bbq tofu. My absolute favorite!

Then to Debbie's Kitchen for the best brownies in the world!

Ew.

This all sounds gross. Mind you, I like my splurges now and again, but it's this thinking that got us all here in the first place, no?

Party pooper. We're only human! Just because we can't have these things (or choose not to because of the calories) doesn't mean we don't like or want them.

I'd have pepperoni pizza with extra cheese, homemade brownies, and birch beer soda.

A big, gooey, hot brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, topped with hot chocolate and carmel sauce, topped with whipped cream, topped with nuts and a cherry!

Also--a mapple nut scone and frapp. from Sbucks. And some french fries.

Either a gyro and fries, or a big piece of Sbarro pizza. Just thinking about what's actually around me...

Or an order of pasta from the cafeteria with some sort of cream sauce and extra cheese and sundried tomatoes.

And a Mountain Dew, a 20oz bottle.

I'd start off with brie cheese warmed with butter and garlic powder and dip bread in to it. Then I would move on to pizza. Followed by a big piece of white cake with chocolate frosting and moose tracks ice cream. Ahhhh....
(This probably equals my allotted calories for a whole week, LOL)

If I could have anything for lunch today I would go to Cold Stone Creamery & get a Founder's Favorite in a gotta have it size. For all those who don't know what this is....A large waffle bowl of sweet cream ice cream that has a browne, hot fudge, caramel & pecans. YUMMY!!!!

You can have all these things if you can control your portion size!

A mini cup of ice cream. A smaller slice of gooey pizza. A few buffalo wings.

Calorie-wise in small portions these foods will probably not affect your weight. Now the saturated fats and cholesterol, on the other hand, may not be good for your health, but every once and a while is ok (at least in my books).

Honestly, probably what I have normally have...

I believe in enjoying my food, but in moderation, of course, so I definitely eat what I enjoy! Plus, since I haven't had pizza for a long time, I really don't crave it anymore...
Man, I'm getting old and boring!

What a fun little thread--good idea.

I'd french fries w. mayonaisse and ketchup mixed together (totally Dutch, and I walk by them in the station every day), a giant fruit smoothie, and a tall La Trappe Dubbel beer to wash it all down.

to the above:

I sometimes keep Biquick mix in the house and make like one pancake or two biscuits at a time. It's like 200 calories if you use water and egg substitute. It's tough to measure like 1/8th of the recipe, but Biquick is very forgiving and you can't really get it too wrong.

New Day- New Lunch

Today it's kind of rainy and dreary out, so I would totally go for comfort food. I would get:

veggie lasagna from Cupini's (it's LOADED with cheese!), cheese covered breadsticks with marinara dipping sauce, and a HUGE slice of Cheesecake Factory peanut butter cookie dough chocolate cheesecake with extra whipped cream

Decadent breakfast foods

Make pancakes with Arrowhead Mills baking mixes - buckwheat, and the mixed whole grain ones are really tasty. I use fat free soy milk, and egg substitute. You could also substitute splenda for the honey that recipe calls for. It calls for 1 tablespoon of oil, and I use walnut oil, but you could probably swap that too.

Then I top them with fresh fruit, sugarfree syrup (tastes EXACTLY like regular syrup) and fat free whipped cream. Delicious, and totally nutritious. We all deserve to eat what we like!! Don't deny yourself when you can easily make a healthier alternative!

And on the french toast front -
Pepperidge farm light whole wheat toast, egg substitute, light vanilla soy milk, vanilla extract , and splenda makes FANTASTIC french toast. Sometimes I add cinnamon too.

:p======= (that's me drooling)

I want a Venti Carmel Frappicino with extra carmel drizzle, Stuffed Crust Combination Pizza from Pizza Hut, Cosmopolitian, Buffalo Wings with Ranch Dressing, Orange Chinken and Chow Main from Panda Express, Big Fat Cheesy Hamburger, Almond Roca, Snickers Bar, and a Oreo Cookie Milk Shake and Egg Rolls from Jack in the Box.

I wouldn't eat all those things in one day. :p Those are all the things I have craved since I started watching what I eat (January, 4 2006)

I am the drooling poster from above

I do let myself have one indulgence meal per week. That way I don't think I am going crazy and never getting what I really want. That leads to overeatting a bunch of junk that I don't really need or wanted. I just focus on portion sizes when I do those days. If I get a hamburger I eat half and my husband eats the other half. I will eat really low calories on the days I do my indulgence meal just to make sure I don't hurt myself in the long run. I have been watching what I eat for over 2 months now. I have done my indulgence meal every step of the way (just once a week) and I have lost 22 pounds...averaging 2 pounds a week now. The biggest thing is to plan for it and watch how much you eat. Plus don't let the indulgence meal turn into an indulgence day, weekend, week, etc. Keep it to the one meal and it will be just fine.

pancakes

To the pancake poster -

My fiance and I make pancakes about once a weekend. We buy the Bisquick or Betty Crocker or whatever variety that you just need to add water to. To make a batch, you add one cup of the bisquick to 3/4 a cup of water. I think I measured it out and figured that half a batch of pancakes (since we split a batch) is around 250 calories. We often mush up an over-ripe banana, or half of one, into the mix too. Then I figure the pancakes are up to about 300 calories each. It comes out to like 4 pancakes each too! Sometimes we add chocolate chips, like 5 to each pancake or so, so 20 chocolate chips is probably another 50 calories (totally not sure about this number!)

So brunch is 350 calories, plus a cup of coffee. Totally doable in the day's worth of calories! Not doable if you do low-carb though!

If I didn't care, I'd have homeade mac and cheese with homeade buttery toasted breadcrumbs on top, followed by a Cold Stone chocolate ice cream over an ENORMOUS Reese's PB cup. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Or, instead, I'd have Cold Stone's mint chocolate chip ice cream. mmmmmmmm...
To live, perchance, to dream!
