Apple Cider?

I brought home a jug of cider, and the label says that 8oz is equivalent to 2 apples. Is drinking apple cider as good for you as eating 2 apples?

I would bet that the cider has alot more sugar and no fiber. Apples are better for you.

Cider doesn't have sugar added (at least good cider doesn't -- then again, this isn't the right time of year for good cider unless you live in New Zealand). But you're right that it doesn't have fiber.

Any whole fruit is better than the juice derived from it. That said, one serving of fruit a day from juice (1/2 cup) isn't bad. Just watch out for sugar content and portion size.

Better to eat the apples because the fiber is pressed out and doesn't end up in the cider (or you'd be drinking applesauce!)

I'd drink in moderation and supplement with real apples!

It is better to juice the apples with a juicer :)
