If you have been on PT for more than three months...

Have you NOT lost weight? I wonder if developing the food logging habit itself is an indicator of success.

I initially lost 17 lbs, then gained it back. I'm still counting peertrainer as an overall success because I am fitter... when I first started, it was hard to do even half an hour. now I am back to doing a full hour of eights and an hour of cardio. But then again I am also using a personal trainer... It would be easier to log on peertrainer if I could use an Excel file on my phone and then upload it... even with wireless hotspots, the connection is pretty slow. I've been putting it in the Notes section of my phone and looking at people's logs via email.

I have been on since around Jan 1 and I have not lost any weight. I have done very well at getting to the gym but my food habits need plenty of help. My measurements are also better than when I started so I consider it a success.

I like this site becasue it is very encouraging and you have people cheering you on, however, sometimes I think some of us, well at least me, need a swift kick in the butt to get back on track. I know we are suppossed to be nice to each other, but sometimes I feel like I've encountered people that have found a place to be comfortable with their current status with others that approve with no real ______ to get to the next level. Its like we sometimes love talking about it and want to get to the next level, but we wont do what it takes....... Again, I am included in this pact.

So in short, I do find ideas and love to hear what people say and I know no one is my mother but I would love a little tough and/or straight talk.

Someone should start a group "A Swift Kick in the Pants"

It isn't so much a swift kick in the pants as it is that there is really not that uch to talk about so why check someone's logs? "Hi! I eat a lot. What. You do too? Wow we have so much in common."

I started one that is a book club and that works well because there's an interesting side discussion. I think I will start one that is for people who read Newsweek.

I've been on PT for a few weeks and am finally starting to lose weight. Working out consistently wasn't moving the scales. I attribute my success to PT because
1-I have to log EVERYTHING I eat.
2-I try to make better choices because I don't want to right down 4 pieces of pizza, breadsticks, etc.
3-I'm learning about other successes that might help me
4-I get a chance to encourage other people and be involved in their success
5-Making a commitment to PT and to my group is a major motivator. I log-in SEVERAL times a day either to read or post my food but I'm always on PT.
6-Writing what you eat gives you a true visual of just how much food you consume.

been on peer trainer since November

I would like to say if people are on peer trainer for 10 years and dont lose 1 pound, it is their business. No one should be putting others down because of their progress. One funny thing about these community rooms is that no one knows who is saying what so cowardly people say smart comments that they normally wouldnt. This site is helping people in different ways. If you have a problem with others not losing weight and being on this site then dont log on. This site makes people believe that they can live a healthy life. Please take your negative energy somewhere else.

also been on since november

...and also have lost no signficant weight. i don't think peertrainer is a silver bullet any more than anything else. when i first started, i lost some weight and now have stayed pretty steady. I, also, have committed to more regular exercise so still feel like it's a success. I would say if you need to only be around people who are losing weight, you should create your own group for it specifically. there are no easy answers and what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for the next person.

I've been on since May...

...and I've lost a total of 4 1/2 pounds. Yes, I'd love to say that I've lost tons of weight, but that's not all there is to peertrainer. It's helped to get me motivated again and to make wiser choices. Of course, if I want to eat chocolate, no one's going to stop me, but I will post my crazy binges, so it keeps me honest. Many of us have other goals rather than just to lose weight-mine is to make healthier choices, exercise more, and learn what form of exercise others do.

I've been using peertrainer since last July. The summer was hard with all of the parties but I got serious in September. Since Sept. I've lost 33 pounds and I know it is because of the attention I pay to my food habits and my exercise. I've tried logging in the past but knowing that I have someone looking at my log and I'm not typing in cyberspace is instrumental to my weight loss. I'm here to lose weight and I have.

I've been on since December, but didn't log in my weight until January.
I've not lost pounds as much as I have lost inches. I'm finding that logging my food on here is keeping me honest with myself in terms of what i"m eating.

Hopefully, I plan to go to a dietician soon to have them analyse my food logs and tell me the truth about my eating habits!

I have been here since Jan. 8th this year and have lost 9 pounds to date but I only starting losing in the past few weeks. I was not eating enough (me saying that lol) so I try to get 1200 calories a day and less than 30 grams of fat with doing this I have lost the 9 pounds. Also I have lost 2 inches everywhere. All I did was change alot of bad habits. One I only drink water and have been doing so for over a year. Before that I only drank diet coke. I think if you change just one thing every week shows on the scales in the long run. I didn't get this way overnight took me 25 years to get this way but I'm bound and determined to get down 30 pounds by my 50th birthday this July.

ebony, you need to chill out. No one was negative here. I for one am accused of being mean on occasion here, and I'll tell you I haven't said anything here I wouldn't say to someone's face. As someone mentioned, sometimes people want some tough talk. Sometimes that's what people need. Negativity police take away that kind of support.

if you have a problem with people speaking thier mind, why don't you not log on?

on since October

And didn't start losing weight until I joined WW at the end of January. I needed to be educated before I could start losing. However Peertrainer has been an excellent source of support, guidance and a gret place to keep my logs. I enjoy the feedback I get from my groups and the interesting and (mostly) informative posts I see in the Community section.

ways to use PT

That's a good idea for how to use groups, Amanda911, I'd like to do something like that too. For the log, I like to use the "personal notes" section for journaling unrelated to food/fitness. That way I don't have to keep multiple journals/logs, everything is all in one place. Would be great to be able to download it to the computer to save.
