Electric or Not

I have two scales and and wondering which is more accurate. The electric one or the regular one. Does anyone know which one I should believe?

Do you mean digital? Or one you actually plug into the wall?

Digital scales are often far more accurate as you get a 000.0 reading.. the ones that have the mechanisms in it don't offer as much of an accurate reading, and also the parts can break down and get loose or tighter giving you an off reading. The best of all of them are the body composition scales, I have one. Worth the money! Hope this helps!

What is the brand name of the scale that you suggested? Is it the kind that measures body fat and water? Thank you.

Hey, I will post the info when I get home. I'm at a night course right now, but I will post it! It is one that does body fat, water, muscle and weight and it has a little chart that lets you know where you are based on BMI for each, and at the end it makes reccomendations! It holds up to 8 people ( you have to program it by steping on it, and it tracks your progress).. I'll let you know soon what it is, probably around 10pm tonight!

I have a Tanita scale and it measures bodyfat and weight. It seems to be very accurate and easy to use......I highly recommend Tanita.

Hello I'm back. One small problem, I have the scale at my Canadian home, and I'm in Boston right now. I sent an email to the housekeeper to tell me the name, I will write it when I get a chance! Thanks!

Consistancy more than accuracy

I think it's more important to be consistant when you're weighing...
-Use the same scale
-Weigh at the same time - preferably am on an empty stomach
-Same clothes

I have a tanita scale that measure to the .1 of a pound and has body fat monitor. I am happy with it's consistancy - I'm not sure how accurate it is because I haven't weighed anywhere else or had my bodyfat % checked. I'm more concerned with graphing my results so far and seeing a downward trend!!

Blozzom :-)

Soehnle scale!!

I found out the information! It is a Soehnle scale! They make scales for people all around the world.

And while I do agree that weighing yourself at a consistent time and so forth is important.. Seeing a change in actual body fat % lets you know that you are doing the right thing when it comes to working out/eating. If your muscle goes down you know you are doing something wrong. I think that these are key point to keep watch over, that you couldn't on an everyday scale. Not only that but having it actually tell you on the scale what you need more or less of, and in what ratio to "healthy" you are is like having a doctor right there.

My team of doctors that U assembled which includes gastroenterologist, nutritionist, medical doctors, weight loss specifies doctors and even a physiologist all suggest getting a scale that measures water/weight/fat and muscle. They are all separate parties too, not from the same place, so you know its important when they all suggest it! Hope this helps!
