Congrats! Sounds awesome! You've asked questions that all require rather extended answers! But I'll try to keep it brief!

1. Start by walking for a 3min, then running (NOT all out) for 30 sec. Alternate this for 30-45 min. As you get better at the 30 sec., make the running segment longer and the walking segment shorter. A good resource is Jeff Galloway's website.

2. Assuming you have really low upper body strength, start with your hands on a wall and your feet together about 2 feet from the wall. Keep your back straight, look at your hands, and do 3 sets of 15 wall push ups. As that becomes easier, move to a high bench, steps, or sturdy chair. Then to a lower bench, then to pushups on the floor. If you can't get as many as you need in a set once you've moved to the floor, do as many as you can in a set the "right" way then put your knees down to finish the set. Keep pushing yourself to get just one more the "right" way, and before you know it, you'll be doing 3 sets of 15!

3. Counting calories is good and educational. For a few days honestly right down what you eat, and using the label or a web site calculate how many calories you are currently consuming. Then work to cut about 500 calories a day from your daily count (you'll lose 1 lb per week this way). You can do that with food AND exercise, just exercise, or just food, but your best bet is both.

Google something like "safe weight loss" or "how to lose weight safely" and you'll get some good resources. Beware the adds for supplements, diet tricks, colon cleanses, etc. You don't need any of that! Just some education and a little discipline! We have a good, supportive team at Shish Boom Bah if you're interested in joining a team....we'd love to have you!

Good luck!!
