Stiff and sore from NOT working out????

I, like I'm sure others, slacked off the last week. This wasn't by choice. The room where the treadmill I use was being occupied by a baby, we had a houseful of people, and our schedules were all off including sleep.

It's been since last Tuesday and I want to jump on but I'm stiff and sore and my back hurts more than ever. Is this normal when you don't exercise? Should I go back to starting slow and move up again? I don't think it's an injury, I'm more stiff than in pain and I can feel the "pop" when I move certain ways. It's definitely nothing I would take pain med for at this point even though the back is pretty bad.

Any thoughts?

I get the same thing when I don't run every day. I workout every day but if I don't run my hips and knees don't seem to want to move smoothly. I usually go slower to start and some some stretching and yoga after and I'm back to normal in a few days.

That can happen and is normal. Your body is addicted to the excersise. I think that is a good addiction. Go slow for a couple of days and then you shoudl be right back into it
