Spend a lot of $ there

I probably have some old receipts hanging around somewhere, but I will try to reconstruct one instead. I'm vegetarian, if that makes this make more sense:

organic bananas
pears or apples in season
heirloom tomatos in season (hydroponic local out of season)
acorn squash in season
green beans in season
organic peeled baby carrots
spring mix
zucchini
garlic
spinach, beet greens, chard, or brussels sprouts
bottled organic nonfat pasta sauce
lentil flour pasta (Papadini)
Quorn patties
frozen peas
frozen corn
Colombian Dota peaberry coffee
pecorino romano cheese for grating
other cheese for sandwiches (emmentaler or cheddar)
beer (milk stout? oatmeal stout? Hefeweizen?)
chipotle salsa
bulk short-grain brown rice, organic
canned or bulk organic black beans
sometimes organic Omega-3 eggs

I never get bread there as I can get better bread elsewhere, and they never have tomatillos, so I end up getting tomatillos and chilis somewhere else.

My shopping list for WH is pretty simple: artisanal cheeses, country pate, el rey dark chocolate blocks and Mestemaher german rye bread.

I find WH way too expensive - there are so many independent organic/health grocers around NY and so much cheaper. Also for as a NYer, I usually get intimidated by big mega supermarkets - too big, too crowded and not enough time to browse. Just not worth the time (the cheese counter and choc is by the entrance and I sneak in to coffee line to save time).

RE: veggie burger brands

I like Dr. Prager's California burgers.

Try the whole foods cereal bars (apple, blueberry).
Also, their Caribbean frozen fruit bars.

my whole foods has a burrito station where I can get a huge burrito (on a plate with no tortilla) for about $7. Hugely filling. I love Whole Foods prepared food, especially when it is affordable.

Somebody mentioned Dr. Praeger. I used to be able to get Dr. Praeger's wild ocean salmon veggie patties at the Kosher Market and at the health food co-ops. Then one day I looked in the freezer cases and they were no longer available.

Does anybody know if they are still being made, and if so, how can I get some? Of course, I can always make my own salmon veggie patties and come close, but I really liked those.

Is anybody else offended by the huge glazed donut ad from livingsocial at the bottom of this page?

I don't get that ad. I just listened to an NPR report about how what we click on leads to what ads pop up as we're browsing. Perhaps something that someone on your computer clicked on at one point is resulting in giant donut ads!!

Maybe when I clicked on a yahoo news video that started with a commerical clip from Dunkin Donuts -- it said something like America runs on Dunkin. After that I came to PT.
