Weekend workout tips
I'm so good on my schedule from Mon - Fri but the weekend comes around and I don't feel like doing anything. What can I do that's fun and will get me motivated? What do you guys who have to run around the kids from activity to activity do?

Sign up for a race! This has been the single best motivator for me because it puts me on a weekend schedule as well. There are so many races you can do whether it is biking or running. Another thing I like to do is incorporate fun walking things with my kids. Going apple picking or to the park is always a great standby.

CYCLING! It's my favorite exercise that doesn't even feel like exercise, it's so fun.

I plan a yoga session and tell everyone it's the only time during the week that is mine. They all know it's "mommy" time and they leave me alone and my husband feels like he's helping me because I'm so direct about it! Insert yoga with anything that would be an hour to yourself.

I take walks - some with the kids (forced family time), some with friends, and some alone. I try to take two a day. I exercise hard during the week, so the weekends are less strenuous.

Man, I have the opposite problem: I love to exercise but have a hard time finding the time to get outside during the week! But that may be the key -- finding an activity you just LOVE to do and can't get enough of.

weekend work out tips
I also do better on the weekends. I have dogs and feel guilty by Friday so I am ready to walk with them by Saturday morning. I hate to say this but I found that staying on the same sleep schedule helps keep me on track on the weekend. I try to go to bed and the similar time and get up early. Sleeping in is a nice treat but really a couple of hours can be lost that I could spend hiking with the dogs.
