How many miles should I be walking?
Hey everyone :) First, I am new to this entire website.
Secondly, I am starting WEIGHT WATCHERS tomorrow (8/30/2010) and was curious as to how many miles I should walk in the morning.
I plan on waking up every morning during the week at 7 AM to go for a walk to get my body active. Should I start out with only 1 mile? 2 miles? 3? ETC.
Any advice, tips, etc would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for activities I can do such as walking, treadmill, stairs, etc. (involving walking obviously) that will help burn off calories.

Try a mile at first! See how it goes!! If you want to go longer, go longer each day. Day 2 go 1.2, day 3 go 1.4, etc. You could go a little less or a little more. Build up your stamina one day at a time. Walking is so easy and it's how I started. Just put on a pair of shoes and no fancy equipment needed!

WW plan says at least 30 minutes a day of activity.
I used to walk 50 minutes a day everyday and it keep me very slim.
Whatever works for you...its a good idea to change up your activity after a while b/c u can get bored with the same thing.

Start by walking a path or a set amount of time. The start to finish feeling is really motivating. Some 2 mile loops around a pond or park are ideal.
