It is very good at toning the body, so much tha I am going to go to school to become a yoga teacher to help others learn to do it :)

make sure you learn proper alignment to prevent injury

if you really want to tone then i would go more for pilates

Pilates streghtens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, unites body and mind and creats a more streamlined shape. I twas develope to create a healthy body, a healthy mind, and a healthy life and people who are ready to heed it's message of balance
