Magazine Nut needs good health/fitness mag...

I love magazines and subscribe to several including Real Simple, Sunset, Gourmet, Allure, and Vanity Fair. I'd like to hear your suggestions on a good health/fitness magazine that is fun to read and informative (I am a full-time working mommy of two, if that helps...)

I get Self and Fitness. They are both really inexpensive and often have good ideas. My absolute fav fitness magazine is Oxygen. It's more expensive but IMO, well worth it.

I also like Self, Fitness and Shape.

I have found there is a lot of overlap... but I love the motivation!

You can also check out these magazines online to preview some of the articles and the way they handle topics. Women's Health is another good one; it's more fitness oriented.

Definetely do fitness rx-for women it is so informative! It has a lot of workout outs and research to back up everything. I don't like self or fitness to much anymore, because i found fitness rx and womens health. Womens health does not have many workouts but it has a lot of tips and is very helpful on what you should eat thats healthy. But i also like oxygen but not as much.
So please look up Fitnessrx for women and womens health.

I love Prevention. It's small enough to carry in your purse (same size as Reader's Digest) and it has TONS of great info and practical advice.

One more vote for Self

I love SELF, as it's not only fitness oriented. In every issue they address some kind of important women's issues - women's health, reproductive rights, emotional well-being. They've got good recipes if you're into cooking and also some short smoothie type of recipes. Their fashion and beauty features and tips are very handy as well. The best thing about being a SELF subscriber - you get to use their selfdietclub.com for free. Really neat tool for calorie counting, exercise logging.

I like Shape for the success stories, but bear in mind it's owned by Weider's so most of the exercises are machine-focused. And not very woman-centric as SELF.

Fitness Mag

I love Fitness Magazine. It has great issues concerning expectant and postnatal moms fitness. It shows you different ways to do different exercises. It has issues concerning circuit training, outdoor training, indoor (no machine needed) workouts. It has emotional health sections and Testimonials from real people who have achieved enormous results in weight loss and health. Beauty and fashion is also discussed but more in a relation to your exercise lifestyle. Fitness Magazine also has great recipes included. I found out about PEERtrainer from an editorial in Fitness mag.

I LOVE Women's Health. It's very fun and informative. It addresses lots of different subjects - there's always a section that gives a suggested workout, a clothing and/or workout clothing section, an improve-your-sex-life section, and lots of fun articles about your health/weight. It's on the light side, and very fun. It's not super-hardcore fitness or diet. It has good suggestions though!

Natural Health is my favorite. Great information and yummy recipes. Also models that look like women, not like they're about to be blown away by a strong gust of wind.

I like Prevention. There are also tons of blogs on the internet that are fitness and health oriented. You get a personal touch with them.

O (Oprah's mag) has some really good health articles too.

I'm a total fitness nut and love mag's too...hands down Oxygen is the best fitness magazine, so many good tips and great exercises, way more than the fitness mags you see in the grocery store.
