Low carb is not high protein. Most low carb diets still recommend about 30% or less of your diet being protein- which isn't 'high' protein. Low carb is usually a high fat diet.
The 'increased health risk' from eating animal protein is the result of combining high carb with high fat- as part of that insulin problem mentioned.
Bean and lentils raise sugar slowly?? Says who? PT have you ever bothered to test your blood sugar after food, or are you just repeating the same tripe that the people advocating the use of whole grains use to advocate a high carb diet?
Glucose monitors are cheap- have you ever considered doing your own experiment to actually see how your body reacts?
