I've been dieting on and off for about 12 years now. There are days when it's pretty effortless. But then there are days like today that I have to constantly fight with food cravings. Allowing myself a little bit would not help, I know, because I'll just want more and will not stop.
I would be sitting at my desk, working, and a chocolate cupcake would just pop into my head. It doesn't help that a chocolate cupcake, along with other decadent treats, is only an elevator ride away.
I'm so tired of constantly battling my cravings. Has anyone found a way to get rid of food cravings completely?
Telling me to cut sugar out won't help. I haven't had dessert for over 6 months, and normally, I eat salad and veggie soup. Cupcakes and pastries still pop into my head even though I haven't had any for almost a year.

Brush your teeth or take a walk. That works for me.
It's not easy, but try it.
I haven't had a soda in 5 years, but I still crave them. I just say no and have a glass of sparkling water.

Something that works for me is eating a dill pickle when I want something sweet. Maybe it is the crunch, maybe there is a mineral I need, maybe it is so totally different from a sweet that I'm distracted. I don't know.

Have you tried chewing gum? It helps me because my brain thinks I'm eating something.

It is really not easy to get out from your cravings. Slowly, if you feel motivated, you might be able control it in time. -
