Why did I gain weight this week?
I am so disappointed to see that despite the food logging, calorie counting and exercise I've gained what appears to be 4lbs this week. I don't see how this would be water weight and I've worked hard to decrease my sodium. I also don't see how it could be muscle - I just don't think 4lbs worth of muscle would crop up in a few days.
Is this normal? What is it?
If I reduce my calories and use veggies and lean protein to fill up on, do I have to worry about causing my body to go into "fat storage" mode (even if doing so with minimal to moderate exercise)?

If you are female, and if this is one of those "times of the month," up to 8 lbs. of water weight can be normal.
If you have been working out hard, the muscle itself will retain water as it builds. Water is heavy -- 4 lbs isn't that much water by volume.

some days i weigh more, some days i weigh less, even with all else being equal! i wouldn't stress about it. if you're doing what you need to do, weigh again tomorrow at the same time, in the same clothes (or lack thereof), and see if there's any difference.
