Sick fron exercise?
I have noticed that by the second week of working out I become sick. Sometimes a cold, other times an infection of some kind.Then I stop working out and get out of the habit and have to begin again. Is this normal? It has been suggested to me that it is the toxins being released....I don't know. Any thoughts?

For about 20 years now it has seemed to me that I get more colds when I am doing activities that involve a lot of breathing hard, and more so if it's outdoors in cold or wet. I think I have problematic sinuses generally as well which might be related. I don't think it's like that for most people, but who knows really.
I don't put any faith in these "releasing toxin" notions.

If you're working out at the gym, likely you're just being exposed to the germs of more other people than usual. The guy working out on the treadmill behind me today had a really ugly cough -- what was he thinking going out with that?

I actually work out at home in my living room. I could understand it if I was in a gym atmosphere though for sure.
