Trying to Conceive - what's the best exercises

Hi everyone,
As my title says - I'm trying to conceive at the moment and while I'm healthy to go ahead with a pregnancy I want to start exercising to keep me fit and also tone up my muscles to support me during pregnancy.
My worry is- the last time I began a regime I actually messed up my cycle and stopped my periods. I didn't feel I done anything drastic, I was eating healthy (cut out all rubbish, sugar etc..) and began exercising 4/5 days a week. Typically I would do 15/20 mins the bike as a warm up then do a 30 min kettle bell routine. Twice a week I used a HIIT workout instead of the KB's.
Does anyone have any suggestions - I'm not a huge yoga fan but I'm willing to try it again if recommended.
Thanks

Sounds like your body is pretty sensitive to those workouts! If I were you I would cut out the really intense stuff (and I love intense workouts! If I'm not busting a gut I'm not working out! ha) Maybe look into other things that you like and would get your body moving, but isn't a regimented gym workout per se - things like rock climbing, zumba, tennis. Whatever - there are a lot of things you could do to be physically active that's less likely to mess up your cycle.

Re: yoga. Based on my experience the right teacher and studio can make ALL the difference! And it could be something you come to really like with the right combo of kind of class, teacher and studio. Maybe... :)

Thanks for the reply - Yeah! I'm the same, I don't feel I've given it my all unless I end up sweaty and wanting to hide away for 1 week :) after exercising.
I walk a lot already but I don't feel it's exercise, more just for fresh air/ get out of the house. I think I'll continue the slower weight bearing stuff with KB's but I won't do any HIIT as I feel that's the culprit for overdoing it.
I might try to see if I can find an English speaking yoga/pilates class where I am and give it a go.
Thanks again.
