I compete with myself

I'm in my 30s and live alone, no bf right now or diet buddy. I get through it by competing with myself... Make a game of it. I take my BMR and my calories burned and then try to be 200 calories under that every day. Every day that I stick to my plan I get one treat... whether it is a show on hulu, an internet date (don't do THAT at 17), or a 30 min nap in the sun.

The other thing I do is use the peertrainer system as my anonymous diary... and actually write what is going on in my life with it. It makes it one of my vices instead of an extra task.

Hi Jacqueline - What helps me is to set daily or weekly challenges. For example, one day I will tell myself I will drink at least 8-10 glasses of water. Maybe one week I will tell myself I will get 210 mins of cardio in for the week (average 30min/day). My daily challenge right now is to eat one salad (or meal that is only vegetables) and fruit everyday. Those seem to help me rather than focusing on the scale. Good luck!
