do you think coffee helps you lose weight or does it make you gain?
I keep getting different advice all over the place and I want real experiences. If you could share, I'd really appreciate it.

I think coffee itself helps you to lose weight since it does make you more alert, and it's supposed to prevent muscle ache. However, if you add cream & sugar to your coffee, that's another story. Also, drinking coffee makes me want to eat cookies or other pastry/

coffee may be a hinderance for women with hormonal issues, particularly during perimenopause. not always the case, but some may want to consider switching to green tea, or getting completely off the caffeine all together depending on their particular body chemistry.
otherwise, I think coffee can rev metabolism if all systems are optimum.

I always have mine with so much cream and sugar that I definitely gain. I don't like it black so that's not even an option. It's like I'm eating coffee ice cream! For me, I gain.

Caffeine is an appetite suppressant. So, as others have said, if you drink black coffee it may help you lose. Works for me that way. However, cream and sugar are just extra calories.
Another thing is that weight loss requires sleep. Drinking caffeinated beverages in the afternoon can interfere with your sleep later, so it's not a good idea.

There are still benefits that we can get from coffee. It is just the added sugar and cream that can make it bad. -
