guys please: how long do I have to wait?

I'm older and dating so things move faster than when I was younger. But how long do I have to wait to sleep with the guy I'm dating? Most of my friends sleep with a guy by the 3rd date. Is this ok?

I asked my friend to post this here because it's anonymous and she did! I think everyone's advice would be good, not just guys.

At least an hour.

Seriously though, I think of sex as something you work up to in a relationship, not a 3rd date kind of thing. If you are looking for a long term relationship, give it a couple months. Build the "personal" relationship, then the "physical".

If you just want to have some fun, why wait at all? Just remember, the outcome of sex is not an "accident". Like everything else you do (like what you eat), its a choice and there are consequences. Nobody accidently catches an STD. Nobody accidently gets pregnant. We have free will. We make choices and the responsibility for the outcome lies only with the individual, not society, the gov't, social pressure, or any other blame game.

That might sound old fashioned, but I've been happily married for 27yrs.

I agree with peel.. it depends on what your wanting.. if its just sex,, no reason to wait just be careful protect yourself.. from disease and unwanted pregnancies.

now if your looking for a relationship.. take time. get to know each other whats the rush?you want him to be with you for more than the physical.. whose to say if you have sex he will stick around if you dont build the emotional aspect of the relationship first.

my mom always use to tell me why would you buy the cow when you get the milk for free...

maybe im old fashioned, but if you want something lasting three dates isnt alot of time to build that type of relationship.

now if its just sex than enjoy, but be safe.
