how to you deal w/depression?

If you are talking about severe depression, I can't suggest anything as that would require medical/pschological help. If you are talking about smaller fluctuations in the way you feel, like just feeling down for extended periods, the CR plan helps me through this. The plan doesn't make me feel that much better, but it keeps me on a lifestyle that prevents me from slipping backwards in my fitness, which would then make me feel more depressed. For instance, regardless of how down I feel, I still brush my teeth daily. Depression doesn't keep me from doing that. The CR's I make are small changes to my lifestyle that I create. By keeping them, they become my norm, like brushing my teeth. I have a CR to w/o 5 days/wk (I'm about to change it to 4). When I'm down, I don't workout as intensely or enjoy it as much, but I just do it. This is really working well for me. Adding a new CR every 2 weeks does help keep me "up" some. Being able to see these small changes adding up to a large impact on my life is quite motivating. I also find that exercising helps with keeping the lows from getting to low. Even if I have to drag my azz to the gym with my mind kicking and screaming that it wants to zone out on the couch, I go. This results in an endorphin rush that helps pick me up some.
