How do I stay away from the whole fat yoghurt I give my daughter?

I have a typical, picky toddler. If she doesn't finish her food, I finish it for her. While it's healthy, it's not as good for my diet (i.e. whole fat yogurht, regular milk (where I should be drinking skim), etc. I don't want to waste food and I know it's not so bad but I won't be shedding the excess fat around my thighs. Help!

keep a small squirt bottle (something like an empty ketchup or mustard plastic botlle) filled with vinegar or anything else that ruins food, and as soon as your daughter is done eating, squeeze some of the vinegar into the food. That way you have no choice, the food is no longer edible, It works for me, although I sometimes sneak in a bite or two before I squeeze the vinegar into it. The trick is to keep the bottle close by when she's eating (but out of her reach of course).

I have a similar trick as the poster above - I actually read it in a magazine a while back. It was an interview with some celebrity and she said the way she resisted picking at her food at a restaurant after she was full was to pour salt all over it. I do this to myself quite a bit and it's a little more convenient than vinegar for when you are out.

I don't think you need to ruin the food - especially since you said you don't want to waste it. And that baby yogurt is expensive.
Two thoughts;
1. If your daughter typically only eats half a carton of yogurt, spoon it into a dish for her and put the other half in the fridge for her to have the next time.
2. Remind yourself that those foods are "FOR THE BABY." Maybe even write her name on those items. Don't allow yourself even one bite or one sip - make them totally off limits. It's easier to resist something, if you don't get that first taste in your mouth.
