I totally disagree *#@!

Is anyone else dismayed by the level of rancor on some of these threads. Why are peple getting so worked up and hostile?

are they grouchy because they are hungry?

4:45-- lol!

I personally think it has to do with the American political atmosphere... With this kind of leadership it's no wonder we're at each other’s throats!

Ha!! This is great. It is all Bush's Fault!!!

Ah, this is almost as good as yesterday's thread. I think we should start a thread of things "I Blame Bush" for. Its better than blaming Canada.

FYI- I blame Bush for my car breaking down the other day. Without good leadership, this country's car mechanics fear nothing and screw up your car. You know, with Enron and all. Karl Rove has to fit into this whole car mechanic no accountability thing somehow.

My house is a mess, can I blame that on politics, too?? Also, sometimes my kids misbehave, I would like to blame the gov't for that, as well.

OP - you are absolutely correct. I was just thinking the EXACT SAME THING this afternoon. You are correct about the threads you named, but it is in many more threads. There will be maybe just 1 or 2 snide or rude comments that are easy to ignore, but if you are following all of the threads it gets to you.

More than just a couple of posts ... angry comments pop up all over the place. It is the culture wars right here on PT!

You know what, I belong to a lot of online communities and this stuff happens everywhere. It really is just people. When you get a lot of people together, you're going to have clashes. Think about school, work, etc. - there's always some kind of disagreement or drama going on. People have different personalities, different ways of saying things, different beliefs, different ideas, and there will always be clashes. We can't have a utopia.

My personal philosophy is, I just won't bother to post on or continue reading a thread that I don't have anything constructive to add to, that has nothing to do with me personally or that is going in a direction I don't like. Why add fuel to a fire? People are certainly free to say whatever they want, but I don't have to read it if I don't want to. I have better things to do with my time. Like trying to avoid those doughnuts that keep calling my name.

maybe it's the same two or three posters who are angry/b*tchy on here? perhaps if our names were attached to our posts some people would be less likely to write some of the mean/aggressive things they do.

but probably not!!

The great thing about this site is no one knowing each other. We can say what we want and if someone doesn't agree we can either choose to have different opinions or have disputes. I love a good debate. But you have to wonder why so many get so uptight about it. If something someone else says makes you angry don't waste your time, just don't respond. Quite frankly I don't blame anything on the Bush admin. Its high time we start taking responsibility for ourselves. People seem to always be able to lay the blame somewhere else so they don't really have to see what they are or who they've become. As far as politics go, people we live in one of the best nations in the world. Its high time everyone realizes it, we have it easier in this country then anywhere else.

I agree with the 12:49 poster. It's the anonimity that causes people to be more outspoken. I know I have said a few things on PT that I wouldn't normally say to someone face to face. Nothing major...but different than my normal reaction in a face to face conversation.

Not just virtual -- It's pervasive newspapers, radio, TV, books, Etc.

After reading this thread yesterday, I had to run errands, everywhere I went, the bank, the grocery store, the laundromat, the dry cleaners, the book store, and then both the radio drive time show and even the television last night -- starting with the local news all the way to the late night shows -- everyone was disparaging everything even using bad language. There does not seem to be one source, it seems to be pervasive among all sources. Then, I picked up some literature books -- even some of the 100 year old classics are nothing but complaints and negative stuff. It seems the old adage is true -- everybody gossips but few do anything about it -- those who do create more gossip.

Did Bush force feed you is that why you are fat? I've always told my kids you don't judge a book by it's cover so you should never judge a person by the color of their skin! Skin is only a color it's what's inside that counts.

i think we are just hungry. period. and not too happy about being hungry, constant media images of perfectly thin women, and wondering why it doesn't come so easy to us.

You ever see fat people on TV commericals for Lays, Wendy's etc. NOT!! All they want is your money and don't give a sh@@@@ about if you get fat.

So you like to blame people (or Bush )for your problems. But you never want to be part of the solution. That's always the way it is.

I'd much rather take out my anger on Bush or a stranger. Beats taking it out on the people that caused it- family, friends, spouses. I'm not kidding either. My crazy friends who rant on about Bush, I am glad they are doing so. They need an outlet.
