hey there ;)

If i were you, i would get a salad, or grilled chicken sandwich and eat only 1/2 the bread. No soda since its empty calories, try water instead.
Oh and if your friends say anything tell them you dont want to look like a goodyear tire man in a few years ;)
Good luck!

If you're bold enough when you're with your friends, ask for the calorie list, if not go on line and check out the restaurants websites. Usually the salads w/low cal dressing and baked pot are the best...I think.

McD's asian chicken salad, with grilled chicken, is pretty good and about 330 calories, if you skip the dressing, which I found easy to do as the chicken has a flavorful glaze on it. It's got a nice mix of greens, soy beans and some other veggies too. Also, they are one of the only fast food places that, at least in my area of the country, filters their water. Drink up and enjoy! My daughter likes their yogurt parfait with fruit. It's a little sweet for my tastes though.

Wendy's small chili and caesar side salad, going light on the dressing, are good choices also.

Good for you for trying to eat healthy. I wish I would have been more careful when I was younger. Take care and good luck~!

McDonald's - the fruit and walnut salad is yummy. Otherwise, you can have a hamburger and small fries (not a Big Mac, just a hamburger) for around 400 calories or so, so if that's the meal, that's fine. You can always do diet soda if you don't want water.

Wendy's - baked potato w/ brocolli (tell them not to put butter on it, otherwise they dump a ton under the cheese for no good reason), maybe ask for cheese on the side so you can control the quantity? Otherwise they have some pretty good salads, and a light dressing. Or, actually, a small frosty and small fries, though not nutritionally sound, isn't that many calories (under 400, I'm almost positive).

Taco Bell - maybe one soft taco, no sour cream or cheese, and a side of pinto beans.

If you always go for the smallest serving size and avoid the "extras" - mayo, cheese, etc., and anything fried, you'll do great. Just, if you go for the salads, don't forget to get the dressing on the side. A full-fat dressing on a salad will make it as bad for you as a Big Mac, sometimes worse!

A lot depends on what you are eating the rest of the day and if this is going to take the place of a meal or if you just want a snack.

check the nutrition facts for a couple of the places you go to regularly. You can check them online. You can check them out before you go out so you dont look wierd asking for the nutrition fact and reading them at the fast food place

also taco bell you can get anything fresca style (w/out the cheese and w/pico de gallo sauce instead) it is sooo yummy! a cruncy taco is only 150cal

taco bell

hard beef taco "fresco style" has 150 calories. fresco style means they omit the cheese and add a salsa to it. there website has alot of different fresco style items...the hard beef taco is just the lowest calories out of the bunch.

Check out the calories on their websites before hand or check them out on calorieking.com
You could always get the chicken soft tacos w/o cheese, that would be a good choice w/ water or diet pop.

When I was a college student, I didn't have much cash.

I usually would eat a bean burrito, and a side of rice. No extras, just the taco sauce. That and a glass of water used to cost less than $2.

It was bigger than 2 tacos, cheap and filled me up due to lots of fiber...

According to the Calorie king the burrito and rice is about 580 calories / 20 grams of fat (kind of high, but they also have lots of fiber which helps). If you get it "Fresca style without the cheese, it's about 550 calories and 18 grams of fat.)
I usually would just dump their hot sauce on them vs. getting sour cream...
