Coldstone Creamery Singing

Totally OT, but am I the only one who wishes they had more money to pay the people who work at Coldstone Creamery to STOP singing? And I know should either go elsewhere or find a healthier snack, but their ice cream is so good!

I also find that the "system" of placing orders and paying there really slows up the process. It's SO SLOW to have one person take your order, make it, hand you the ice cream, take the rest of your party's orders and then have you pay at the end. Plus, you can just walk out with the ice cream without paying because so many people are running around behind the counter taking and making orders and taking money, and there are so many people milling around in front of the counter placing orders and waiting for them or waiting to pay.

Why not have 1-2 people on register who take your order and your money, and 2-3 people making the orders (Starbucks/Caribou coffee style) which are delivered to a side counter so people can stand and wait in a separate spot?

I once gave the cashier the tip and told him to please NOT sing. He smiled and actually said thank you, relieved! I think they hate it as much as we hate hearing it. The ice cream, however, it to DIE for (but not literally!), so I only have it once every few months.

I once told them I would give them a tip only if they DIDN'T sing. We don't like the jingles, so we usually grab and go so that we don't have to hear them. Honestly, I think their ice cream is so expensive that a tip jar is rather ostentatious on their part.

I think I have only heard them sing once, I guess the ones around me don't follow all the rules. Or, no one tips.

I think it's fun. I also like the burger joint in my former town where the wait staff sometimes broke into old 50s tunes, and the German restaurant in Portland where the wait staff sometimes joins the wandering accordian guy in singing--my favorite there is a funny parody on the scale song from "The Sound of Music."

I'm more inclined to enjoy things and I'm not easily irritated--makes life more fun.

I wanted to work part-time at coldstone just so I could sing! Then I thought about how much weight I would gain eating the ice cream and I 'changed my tune'. Ba dum bum ching!

I actually find their jingles refreshing and appreciate the "extra" effort. Frankly, I don't care if they sing standing on their heads! I just want the ice cream, LOL.
