Proof/motivation that it's all worth it.

Just wanted to share some fab cholesterol test results that my husband received today. Back in March the MD wanted to start him on cholesterol lowering drugs but DH wanted to try to improve through diet and exercise instead. Here's the results:

Triglyceride:
Desired: 0-149
March: 107
July: 55

Total cholesterol:
Desired: 100-199
March: 248
July: 197

HDL (good):
Desired: 40-59
March: 47
July: 57

LDL (bad):
Desired: 0-99
March: 180
July: 129

He works out 6 days/week and has increased his intake of vegetables. He is down to eating red meat less than 1/week and eats fish instead most nights. I'm so proud of him!

wow, that's awesome. It's easy to have a disconnect between what we do and the results. It's nice to see that. You (& he) must be very excited!

Fantastic!

It is nice to see some other numbers here besides just weight and BMI. We often lose sight of the other benefits of eating well and exercising!
Congrats to your husband for taking charge of his own health and not paying the pharm companies to do it! ;) I hope he is proud of himself too!
