healthy chocolate???

i just discovered these things called cocoa via bars. they're 100 calories for a small dark chocolate bar. but here's the best part: 8% RDA fiber, 15% vitamin C, 25% calcium, 20% vitamin E, 15% B6, 15% B12. plus they have all of the flavanoids and antioxidants of dark chocolate. is there really such a thing as healthy chocolate? i'm in love with these things!

dark chocolate can be good for you! it sounds like you already know this. just remember to check how much sugar is added and don't binge on it! i eat a small square of dark chocolate w/ almonds almost daily. it's a small indulgence that i really enjoy, and it keeps me from feeling deprived and over-eating. plus i get antioxidants!

OP again - i can definitely eat just one. they are so rich that sometimes i can't even finish one. i have always indulged (a little) in dark chocolate daily, but now i am happy getting it in a vitamin-rich form. i bought mine at publix (local grocery store). i'm sure you can find them at most chains - walmart, target, CVS, kmart, albertson's, etc. or you can just google them.

Yep, dark chocolate can actually be good for you (as with all things, in moderation). The lighter the chocolate, the less cocoa solids it has in it (some bars will show the percentage of cocoa solids - I don't eat anything much under 60%), and the more cocoa butter, milk and sugar has been added. White chocolate has no cocoa solids at all.

I love the cocoa via bars. I heard about them on hungrygirl.com. They are very good for a chocolate craving. A little pricey - about $6 for a box of 5, I think. The portion control is key - each bar is individually wrapped and rather small. And I can always eat just one because they are so rich. The fat is high, but if you work it into your allotment for the day it is no big deal.

You can order them in bulk from their website, but some of the stores around here are beginning to stock them, like wal-mart and giant eagle. They have detailed info and purchasing info on their website.
