having a problem with bingeing and would love some advice

aggggg. Bingeing is a very big problem for me. At most I can keep it in check for 8 or 9 days... but there are some weeks when I feel like the whole week is one big binge. I know that there are emotional issues behind this, and that is something that I plan on addressing, but does anyone have any ideas/ experiences, etc. that might be helpful? Also, I am thinking of starting a group for people who have a problem with bingeing and are trying to lose weight and figure out to stop bingeing forever. Is there anyone out there who would be interested?

okay - i will start the group. It's called "A healthy relationship with food" - kinda touchy feely but I did not want to have the word "binge" in there... don't need ANY more reminders. Hopefully two others will join too!

You may want to look into Overeaters Anonymous. This group can be a wonderful resource in helping individuals deal with the "whole package" of eating/food relationhsip issues.

I second the Overeaters Anonymous recommendation. Not only do you get the weight loss support, but you address the emotional reasons behind your binging. For emotional eaters especially this is an awesome resource. When you felt like binging or were tempted to - you could call your sponsor for some immediate face-to-face support. Peer Trainer does not conflict with OA btw, I would say it actually compliments it very well.
