perpetual vacation?

i wondering if anyone had any advice on what can be done if someone's log always says they are on vacation. in one of my groups 2 people's logs have said "on vacation" since i joined, months ago. i suppose it's none of my business, but i log religiously and love checking the logs of my groupmates. it doesn't show when they last posted, and it just seems like this is abusing the "on vacation" feature. the rule is, update at least once a week or you're out, and to me this feels like cheating.

i realize this sounds catty, but it just kind of bothers me. opinions? why do people do this?

The "on vacation" feature is also attached to a specific logging date. The system removes members if they haven't logged for 2 weeks, even if on vacation, from public groups. This policy, created by PT, was also supported by the community, but nothing is set in stone.
