how to best support?
What is the best way to help someone along in your group? I know how to walk a fine line, but how do you best motivate, challenge-- approach the problem from different angles?

Depends on what you feel the problem is. Are they not eating healthy? Not exercising regularly? Most of the time what works for me is a bit of humor, which lets them know you noticed what they are doing but not making them beat themselves up about it. Like asking if ___ is a part of their weightloss plan. Insert any unhealthy food in the blank. Or just asking how they are doing with their workout plan. Perhaps they are doing good but just didn't put it in their log, etc.

My group the people go on maybe once or twice a week. Is that normal.

Normal or not, if you need more interaction, start or join a new group that will be as active as you need!
For me, it helps to belong to several groups so that if one group is quiet that day, hopefully another group is hoppin' that day!
