When did you "get" it?

Understanding how I can lose weight, be healthy, and eat well came to me by tackling not just weight loss, but other aspects of my life (personal, professional, etc.) where I was procrastinating, always waiting for something better to come along, or to be a better me (read: thinner) to get things done. I finally stopped the endless cycle of limbo and DECIDED. I work hard every day to achieve my goals. I don't have time to look back or daydream about the future possiblities of what ifs. It's the work I do today that matters.
When did it all click for you?

When a boyfriend (ex now) told me to stop being such a LEECH and leave him alone.
lol
I know that's terrible, but it jarred me into realizing I was trying to make him my absolute everything. I re-connected w/friends, focused more on my work, and started eating better and exercising- first out of revenge for him hurting my feelings, but when we broke up it was a great habit I kept.
Great post!

Thanksgiving last year. I spent it in Texas with my teensy size 0 aunt who used to teach gymnastics. She pretty much ordered me to join a gym, get a personal trainer, and call her for advice or motivation if I needed any. I guess I just needed someone knowledgeable to give a damn about me, since being fat made me feel worthless. It was wonderful to see her 7 months later and 30 pounds lighter...and still shrinking.

5:50 pm poster-i went to your blog page and i have to tell you honestly that you don't look bad at all for the 170's! -i think the pants you are wearing in those photos are a bit unflattering. a looser pair would make you look great!

When I did "Get the Edge" (Anthony Robbins audio program)
It's helped me really figure out what it is I want.
It's helped me set goals and create the plan to reach them.
It's made me not just sit around and wait for things to happen.
It's helped me get all of the JUICE out of my life.

10:49am poster: That is exactly the reason that I wore those clothes, so I would look unflattering...helps keep me motivated...

I like the blog idea because you can post as many photos as you want and you can't do that on this site...i don't think.
