alright, here's a crazy question for you...
what do you think it means when sucking in your stomach only changes your waist measurement by an inch at most?
I cannot suck my stomach in any further. "Sucking it in" has a neglibile effect. However, there's still some pudge around my stomach. (33" waist, would prefer to be a 29)
I'm thinking that means focus on the cardio, cuz the muscles can bulk a little, but they ain't getting much tighter. Ideas?

crunches will not make your stomach smaller. when will america learn this. they'll make it tight, and stronger, which is still very important. but belly fat is just that... fat. cardio is the only way to lose the belly weight. and sucking it in means nothing... especially if you don't walk around that way all the time.

OP here - my point is sucking it in isn't noticeable- I don't "have to walk that way" I just am now. And I haven't done any crunches. Or sit ups. Or balance ball workouts...

1st responder here... sorry, that was all a bit curt. You do sound like you know what you're talking about, i didn't read into it clearly the first time. You're right, cardio is the best way, and you should do ab work, but realize it's strength training, not fat burning, and it will improve posture and balance, so you should incorporate that too. good luck!
