frozen mini charleston chews - 15 cals each or so, and 2 will be a quick cure
fat free jello pudding snacks
Lifesavers Sourz hard candy
Diet Rite soda - cola and orange, I think the other flavors are gross
Diet Swiss Miss hot cocoa - only 25 calories per packet, and I think it tastes the same as the other stuff - but I make it with a little less water than it recommends so it's more chocolatey

Extremely high-end dark chocolate allows me to eat something sweet, but it's so rich that I am satisfied after just a little bit (Scharfen Berger is my fav)

Make it very, very hard to get to the sweets. That can behard to do at work sometimes, I know, but you have control at home - if you have to go to the grocery or make a batch of cookies in order to have something sweet to eat, you're much less likely to do it.

Avoid sugar as much as possible in the mornings. For whatever reason, I find I definitely crave sugar all day if I eat it first thing in the morning. I have to make sure I have some protein and some healthy carbs well before my first bit of sugar...to this end, maybe add your sugar cravings to your log for a while, until you know your triggers, and then work on avoiding those triggers at all cost!

I love Slim-fast snack bars; they have one that tastes just like Butterfinger and another that tastes just like Snickers. I also eat low-fat, no sugar added ice cream, and Weight Watchers Smart Ones frozen desserts & ice cream. I could never just not eat sweets, but eating these allows me to give in to my cravings while still losing weight.

Someone mentioned Scharfen Berger. I noticed when I want something really sweet I can eat a square or 2, 3 of dark chocolate and its totally satisfing. I notice that if I eat 70% dark that its sweet but after it has a bit of an after taste so I don't really want anymore.

I use the dark chocolate trick, Luna bars (they have some awesome flavors), and skinny cow ice cream sandwhiches (ice cream is my weakness!)

I'll eat a few (2-3) Dove dark chocolate pieces. The dark chocolate has antioxidants as well so it's good for you too! I keep some in a jar (not a clear jar) in my cupboard. Then, if I really feel like I need something sweet I have to really want it and think about it and remember what I have available. And like someone else here wrote, it's a little bitter but still rich and you don't need many to kill the craving.

Sugar free pudding cups are also a great creamy treat.

I think it means you're dehydrated.

next time you want something sweet, pour yourself a large glass of water. Notice what happens, it's pretty cool.

water? gimme a break

I'm not doubting drinking water might have some effect on curbing a craving, but c'mon. When you want it, you want it. It's a mind thing for me, not necessarily a physical thing.

I'm into the sugar free hard candies -- sweet n low brand coffee flavors are great, as are the butterscotch. I try to steer clear of most of the sf candy now available since it's high in fat. The calories add up, so you still have to be careful with the hard candies. Diet jello (peach rules, especially mixed with raspberry) and swiss miss diet hot chocolate is good too if it's not too watery. Berries are a good, lower sugar fruit to snack on - grapes are a lot higher in sugar content, I believe.

I've been having big cookie cravings lately, and the mint Snackwells cake cookies are very sweet and tasty. The problem is NOT eating the whole box.

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing - depends if the glass is half empty or half full - but one snackwells cake cookie and one oreo have the same number of calories (50)! Nutter Butters are 45, I think - or maybe 60 - can't remember. So if you can eat just one, you have great options - but, most of us can't...

60 SECOND HEALTHY CHEESECAKE

I have a die hard sweet tooth. Luckily for me, I found this recipee on OPRAH, and have substituted this quick fix whenever I need a sweet. Not only is it delicious, it takes less than 60 seconds.

INGREDIENTS:
Ricotta Cheese (low fat)
Sweetner (or sugar) I personally use SPLENDA
Vanilla extract** optional

Just spoon in a small cup of ricotta cheese. Add a package of splenda and stir for 30 seconds. If you wanted to add a vanilla flavor (or any other flavor), just add a couple of dashes/ squirts of vanilla or any other extract. Stir and you are done. This is truly delicious and completely satisfying!

For variety... you may want to add cinimmon, nutmeg or cocao. Plain is fine too!

Enjoy everyone!

another pro-water here

i find that whenever i am having one of those really maniacal cravings--i want to eat 2 pints of ben and jerry's right this minute kind of cravings--its ALWAYS because i am dehydrated. i drink a liter of water, and i feel fine. if there is a bit of craving still there i have a protein bar or a hot cocoa (or some other hot beverage, always splenda/stevia, not real sugar). that way i know i'm fixing the problem by satisfying my craving and giving my body a protein boost, or at least not screwing up my blood sugar.
