How much can your body fat fluctuate in 24 hours?

How much can your body fat fluctuate in 24 hours. I have been doing readings every day for about 1 month and it has went down a little bit each day....but today it was like 5% lower than ever before. I just started Pilates a week ago, but doubt it could have changed that much overnight. Would be nice though :)

Pilates doesn't really raise your heartrate so it's great for toning muscle groups but you probably won't see much weight loss from Pilates.

Weight can fluctuate A LOT throughout the day due to many different factors. Have you been weighing yourself consistantly at the same time of day? Are you weighing yourself naked or with clothes on, clothes and shoes weigh a lot. Also depending on your gender if your female and you just got over that time of the month your could have lost a lot of water weight.

My weight didn't fluctuate -- it was the body fat that fluctuated A LOT.

If you read the literature that comes with the scales that read body fat, they explain that while you sleep, your body's water content pools in your trunk and throws off body fat readings. Wearing clothes or having damp feet will also mess with the bf results. The most accurate reading is naked, dry, and ideally in the afternoon sometime.

I always do my readings, naked and dry - first thing when I get up in the AM. Guess I'll try it again tomorrow and if it is still not accurate I guess it is time to get a new scale.

can you contact the scale's manufacturer, by phone or email, and ask them? you maight get the most thorough response that way.
