Calorie Wiki tutorial?

I just happened upon a very heated argument within a calorie wiki entry. After reading the whole thing, I realized that there is a LOT I didn't understand about this thing called the Calorie Wiki.
Can anyone offer a brief synopsis on how to use it and maybe some tips on how to get the most out of it?
If I'm understanding correctly, I could theoretically put in a "recipe" (a combination of foods I consume for a meal on a regular basis) and the nutritional info for that entire meal, and then just use that each time to enter it into my logs. Is this allowed? Would I be misusing the system?

You can't misuse the system regardless of what anyone tries to tell you in there! Everything is allowed! Even if you only know the calories!! Someone else may be able to fill in the missing information for you! Put as much information as you have in the entry, though - it will be more useful this way!

The more of us that use it the more useful it will be to the whole community!

If you are adding information into the wiki, that is not misusing it in any way. If it helps you, helps someone else-great. The whole point is to gather and share information.

The calorie wiki would be really helpful/useful if the serving size was a little clearer. In many cases the serving size is just 50 or 100 or 10...is that count, gms, tbsps? Or maybe I'm missing something...?
