I've eaten horribly for 3 days, and I want a freakin' choc. donut

Help- I'm not hungry at all, but I want the stupid donut. 2. Eating them would be me over 2,000 calories already today, and it's not even 1:30pm. Help me stay focused- I feel so numb.

Get AWAY from the donuts. Just walk away. Walk right out the door -- go outside! Breathe, stretch, lengthen your stride -- you're not hungry, focus on a different sensual pleasure.

You know you'll feel like crap afterwards and be filled with disgust, so straighten your shoulders and see if you can take a 10 minute 'sanity walk' around the block. Get out of the stale office air (that's where I pressume you are since there are doughnuts available) and clear your head. You likely don't want the doughnut as badly as you just want a break from what you are doing and thinking. Plus it's the end of the week and all the stress has been accumulating. Make it a goal to have an active weekend and then start the weekend early :-)

Just say no! Over 2,000 before 1:30 is WAY too much!

Chew some gum, drink some water, treat yourself to a nonfat latte or diet hot chocolate. Do you think you have the will power to take the donut but then put it in the garabage? That would take away the temptation.....

why not slowly try *one bite* and if it's dry and stale, throw it away. you can have a better donut some other time. if it's good, eat it slowly and give yourself permission to enjoy it.

I had some good advice recently on facing situations like this. Start being a healthy food critic. Start picking it apart for its lack of nutrition, the havoc it will play on your blood sugar, the fried fat content, how it sets you back on all your effort, how it is hard to have just one because it helps induce cravings....then reward your self with a healty treat later - whether it is food or a pedicure or something.

Wait until you are hungry and see what you want then.

To follow on from the post of 2:36 -- it's also possible (probable?) that you are in a mood to punish yourself for your previous three days of eating unhealthily, and what better way to punish yourself than to inhale a high fat, high sugar, no nutrition food. In fact, that's probably what your whole morning has been about, feeling guilty about overeating and continuing the cycle during the morning. Once you are feeling better (and you will be soon, if you aren't already!), you'll be able to look at that donut for what it is and go for a crispy crunchy apple, or the like, instead. It's very hard to turn the cycle around and be kind to ourselves sometimes, but you have to step back and say "Oops, that's right, I'm human after all. I did it again. OK, self, time to cut yourself a break." Hang in there -- if you haven't reached the point this evening, you will tomorrow.

Eat the stupid doughnut! Then think about it was worth it? Maybe if you just had one. Now get on with your life!

How did you do, OP? I feel for you -- I've had a couple of weeks like that lately. I hope you're feeling better and more focused today.

I didn't eat the donut, but then I had all kinds of snacks much later on.
I think you were all right in many ways, about punishing myself for continuing that bad eating, which I did yesterday, too. But this morning I started off eating very well and am glad to be on track again. It is so discouraging to do that to yourself, and you feel like such crap in mind and body.
Thank you all!
